We go into a very hectic Christmas schedule on the back of an exhilarating win against Gateshead last Friday, when I think everyone inside the ground went through a wide range of emotions.

We struggled to make an impression against a very good Gateshead side in the opening period, but the tactical changes made by Darrell worked wonders for us as we were a totally different side after the break.

The players showed a great deal of character to come from behind twice and then go on to win the match and I don't think you will see three better goals than those scored by Ollie Clarke, Lee Mansell and Stuart Sinclair.

The atmosphere inside the ground during that second half was electric and I really think the game was a superb advert for Vanarama Conference football and reached a wide audience as it was shown live on television.

During the half time interval at that match I had the pleasure of presenting the Harry Bamford Trophy to Paul Randall. An outstanding goalscorer for the club, and a popular player during his two spells with us, Paul is a very worthy recipient of the award.

Earlier this week everyone at the club, Directors, administrative staff, football staff, and players, all sat down to enjoy a roast dinner at the Memorial Stadium. It was one of those rare occasions when all of the people involved with this great club were able sit down and enjoy each other's company, if only for a couple of hours.

Those working behind the scenes don't often get the recognition they deserve, so thanks to all of them for their hard work and thanks to all of you for your continued support.

This really is an important time of the year for our club, with so many points at stake in such a short space of time and Darrell and his staff will be working hard to ensure that the players are well prepared for all of the festive fixtures.

Our Boxing Day fixture down at Torquay is followed by two home games in quick succession, against Macclesfield and Torquay and I hope that as many of you as possible will try to get along to one, or both, of those games.

In the meantime, and on behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to take this opportunity of wishing you all a Very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

Chairmans report (my Ars*), seen more in depth and honesty from Politicians. Contained as much of relevance to us supporters as to what (beside an Xmas Lunch) is really going on. Oh as others have said what about the New Ground ? or does that depend on getting back into the League ?

Supposed to be the Season of Goodwill and Cheer Nick so come on open your Santa sack and give us some specific positive news for the future, please.
