I read in the Times today that Roman has dispatched a group of people--- accountants, architects etc to meet the owners of the land behind Battersea Power Station! Obviously they are looking to have something to discuss with CPO's next time round which will persuade 75% to give it the thumbs up. Ownership rather than leasing the land will be a key issue! As much as I will be upset by a move away from SB, if push comes to shove, this strikes me as the next best option! If you're feeling energetic its walking distance! I wonder how other Blues would react?
Well, seeing as you love to remind us of the fact that we aren't in Chelsea, why would we have to change our name? It's a bit like part of your name being from the Percys of Northumberland, but you have sod all to do with the area geographically speaking, just their money.
Of course--he's a spud! His team's in trouble over the stadium they wanted but didn't get! A bit of the green eyed monster methinks!
We HAVE to move stadium to boost our revenue for these financial fair play rules, we need to maximise it as much as possible
lack of Champs league football, 24k attendances and Prem matches not selling out means the Harris Pipers have quietly dropped their plans
Unfortunately kooper I have to accept the changes that are going to happen! Having been visiting SB for over 50 years it will be a big wrench. But if it has to happen Battersea Power Station is the best of all the other sites I've heard mentioned!
Of all the options Battersea looks to be the most logical and is smack bang in the middle of Chelsea's supporters heartland. Ever since EUFA announced the Fair Play Rules, a move away from the Bridge was sadly inevitable - even if Bates hadn't built his carbunkle at the Shed End the capacity would still fall 10,000 short for our future plans.....so roll on Battersea.
Actually , they reckon none of this is likely to be up and running for close on 10 years wherever we end up! When I first started going SB was less than half an hour on the tube, but now I live in Kent the journey will be easier to Battersea!
