You could pick several exceptional players today including Granero, Faurlin etc but Cesar really gave us confidence at the back. Pulled off some good saves, decisive in the box, assured on the ball and good distribution. When you see that you realise what a difference a top quality keeper makes. Green will benefit from playing with him and be a useful number 2. Great stuff! His first save from Hazard was a game changer. If that had gone in heads would have dropped early and I fear what could have happened.

Only strange thing was he clearly didn't know the pre match warm up and each drill had to be explained! Thought they might have gone through it at least once in training!

Yeah I noticed the pre match warm up thing. He was very good though eh? You're right about that early save from Hazzard too. We'd have struggled big time if that had gone in.

It looked to me like Cerny is now a GK coach as he was out there helping, Cesar definitely talks English as he was chatting with Cerny.

Think your right, good interaction all round! Interestingly compared to the Swansea game I thought Green put in loads more effort. It became a personal battle to not even let in a warm up goal, which is exactly what you want to achieve with competition for places.

Cesar seems to exude confidence, which transmits to our defence - can't seem to remember our back four being as solid as they were today since our return to PL. Compare that to how they were agsinst Swansea and they've made a massive improvement - just hope Cesar stays fit (think he had some injury probs last season)

Clearly his English is poor as he refused to wave at his adoring fans. What's Portuguese for Cesar Cesar give us a wave.

Agree 74. Sharing songs is cheap and lacks imagination.

´saludanos´ will be do just fine for all our latino stars!!!

It was a pleasure to watch the performance today even though my link kept freezing!!! - our midfield was superb in all depts, Nelson was massive and Cesar was immense too. In fact congrats to all the team on a great effort and a big well done to the crowd who were magnificant as well.

    Onwards and definitely upwards!!

Most say i felt a lot easier and was not nervous at all with him in goal. And also how nice is it to see and keeper playing it short when we can and not just boot it up field

He was calling back Faurlin to pick up the ball and getting both FBs to go wide, a sign of a confident goalie ordering players around on his debut, his kicking was good too.

He plays for queens park rangers he's such a lovely chap
He saves with his left hand, he saves with his right

I'm still stunned at the surrealism of having a World Cup winning World Class keeper playing for QPR.
It's not until you see players like this in the flesh that you realise how classy they are.
Just having his presence between the sticks put me at ease.

Very true nines, he not only injected confidence into our back four, I imagine his mere presence had an affect on the Chelsea players hoping to beat him. His 1st touch for us was a really important save.
