Following Whitbread's recurring injury problems surfacing again on Saturday, we are down to just 2 fit CB's. I was wondering what you think we should do to sort the problem. As far as I'm aware, we're only allowed two season long loans (which we already have), but are we allowed any short term loans? If so, would you expect PL to go down this route, or will he look to bring someone in permanently? IMO, it would be better if we were to loan someone in, if we could, otherwise we will have 6 CB's when they are all fit! Anyway, what do you think PL will do?
I understand Martin of the 'R' persuasion is a mighty fine CB! With Naughton having made his tenure at RB redundant, might he not provide good cover?
Ahhh, I hadn't thought of that. Is he good enough to be thrown in to Premier League games in that position though?
I think we may get a short term loan deal in; although naughton can play there I'd rather he stays at rb as he has been playing well There's francomb as well (although inexperienced)
I think it's going to have to be a short term loanee. Whitbread's likely to be at least a month with a hamstring injury, so even if Ward is back by the end of the break (and he'll be lacking fitness), we could easily be in the same situation again with one red card or injury reducing us back to two CB's. I wouldn't have thought Lambert will want to add permanent signings now because, as Cheshire said, we'd end up with too many CB's when they're all fit.
I wouldn't mind r Martin at centre back, lamberts clearly thought about it as he played centre back during pre season. If we do get another centre back I hope he's under 21 as I don't want our 25 man squad to be filled out.
Surely a short-term emergency loan wouldn't be part of the 25 man squad! Otherwise, after the squad has been named, we wouldn't be able to cover any injured player with a loanee!
Oh, I see your point - we can't add after 25 are named and when we can, in January, he will have left.
i'd prefer someone brought in permanently - even when they are all fit, cant hurt to have options...wouldn't mind wes morgan from forest...anyone got any ideas on who you'd like us to bring in, either loan or on a full time basis...
Are we even allowed short term loans in the Prem? If so then I'm sure Lambert will have looked into it already. If not, then I think as, dave and wonky said, it will be R. Martin.
I have to say I haven't been impressed with R Martin as a RB this season yet, so not as a CB with Rudd!
