....Williams , Fernandez , Amat and Bartley , could it be the best in the league or closing in on it. Boggles the mind considering money spent for Williams , Amat and Bartley.Got to admit , I didnt see the value of Amat and Bartley evolve , but evolve they did .

Looking like we have some depth at last in our back line, but then it's the same on our front line and wings as well, good times to be a Jack aye!............<cheers>

Bartley had a good game yesterday ,I did like the way he got the defence sorted while Ash was down injured , didn't rush 'looked calm and looked likes a great buy .

Bartley was even better than that, yesterday Ash had to take pain killers twice to get him through the game and went to touchline (Monk) pointing at his leg twice more. He played a manful game but Bartley covered him all game.

Very mature performance from Bartley. If Amat and Bartley continue to progress as they have then I then it may be Ash finding it hard to even make the bench

Currently I still see Ash and Fernandez as the starters with Amat and Bartley fighting fo the bench.

Hasn't Amat played full-back at some point?

To be a good side you have to have squad players who can take the places of their teammates and carry on as one unit. Monk has installed that and i can see him bringing in a couple more players to shore up those positions where we dont have quality cover. The guys on the bench are as important as those chosen to play on the day and that is what makes a successful side....we are close to having a perfect squad where we are comfortable with whoever starts the match.

, You're probably right although we know that Bartley can be a leader as seen in last years FA cup game against Everton , before his injury he controlled the defence as well as Ash could / can .It's great we seem to have a solid defence , Taylor played a good game yesterday but as pointed out his commitment in chasing down Sanchez prior to his goal was worrying ,half speed at best although that was still quicker than Rangel at his best .
