Rumour has it that we enquired about MacGuire from Hull and now talk of an offer for Lees from The Wendy's.

So we spend £2 million plus when we have a settled back three.
As cover or a change of formation to 4-4-2 or similar.
    Your thoughts please.

I think we are going to go 4-4-2 with freeman and Bryan going to wingers.
Forwards tend to be moved on later in transfer windows, as they filter down from the prem purchases dropping the ones that won't play for their current clubs.
Last season we got Agard late as we held out for the best price on Baldock.

I also have a feeling we may be going 4-4-2 as well... I inferred to it in another thread some weeks ago.

If we go 4-4-2 I expect Flint to be a lot less effective.

Maybe Flint might be the next Paul Warhurst <whistle>

    With
Little - Ayling - New Signing - Williams as the back line.

and Freeman, who should be the free man (pun intended but relevant)

Freeman has to be played in the Keegan role

Do we even have three central defenders? Osbourne and El-Abd are out on loan, so it looks like we only have two defenders. Even as a 4-4-2 we have no cover for injuries or rotation.

Ideally, I wouldn't want us to ditch a working formation. It caused a lot of problems for other teams last season, and it could continue to cause problems this season. However, unless we sign someone by Friday, we're looking pretty ****ed for the start of the season. 4-4-2 is pretty much the only formation we can really do with our current squad of about 15-16 players.
