Gerrard got away with winning nothing for 3 years because Rangers were coming from a lower base in terms of where we have been in the last 10 years. It was also clear that we were improving every season under Gerrard. If Gerrard had come in after the previous manager had lost 10 in a row then Gerrard wouldn't have been given 3 years. In fact I doubt we would have employed it at all.
