http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2011/1...-scotland-star-james-mcfadden-86908-23485447/ Until I see him paraded in a Celtic shirt I'll take the story with a pinch of salt but what do others think if it is true? I'm not really a fan. On his day, he's a great player but those games are few and far between. Plus he's injury prone and I don't see the point of selling Maloney only to replace him with another player who's going to spend most of his time on the recovery table.
I don't think he offers us what we need he is neither a striker or a wdie player it would be just like last year with Freddy y fronts.
I doubt very much the signing of McFadden (in the unlikely event it does happen) will distract from the any displeasure aimed at the Board at the AGM.
Im not entirely against signing him. If on a free and a pay as you play deal there is no harm on taking a punt on him But where would he fit into Lennons system? He isnt going to be the goalscoring brute forward we need to go along with any of the other forwards He wont play up front id say then so my guess he he would play on the wing? We tend to play only one "winger" and we have Forrest, Commons and McCourt. Im not sure id play McFadden over any of them
He might be a great signing for some team but not for Celtic. He turned his back on us a few years ago and chose to play for A McLeish. For doing that and also for the fact that he is no good is the reason I don't want him. If he was any good he would have been signed up months ago by some of them money bags EPL teams.
