6-1 thumping (both legs), they lost and deserve to be out but we all know what the suits are like...:steam:

The other team shouldn't have fielded their ineligible player, their own fault really, but still losing 6-1 and getting reinstated is quite funny though

Hardly affected the outcome did it, but rules are there and if allowed to be broken others would simply abuse it differently

its a line around the penalty box....one side a one on one the other side a free kick with a wall ...

like the line in the sand.... or the invisible spray ! it is there for a reason not only did they fail to register for the squad, the consequence was he was still a banned player...if we play Sheff and they have not crossed the t or dotted the i on a new signing and we lose 1 - 0 would we say oh that was harsh us getting the 3 points ....like f we would

What amazes me, more than anything, is that it's taken this long for UEFA to realise that an ineligible player was fielded.

I wonder if this will keep Forster at Celtic. It's rumoured that he wanted out if Celtic didn't make the Champions League.

They should have received a heavy fine and any other alternative punishment.. To reinstate Celtic after that whacking is ridiculous..

He only went on for the last few mins didn't he.?

It brings a whiff of something smelling like a rat when the result can be overturned when they were thumped and don't deserve to be in the next round. But on a more thoughtful trend Legia did break the rules and got caught and perhaps a single match replay may have been a better option but there it is I suppose.

Back on the subject of governing bodies dishing out suitable punishments I was pleased to see FIFA upholding the biter's ban for 4 months and now we need them to really stamp their authority once and for all by taking away the World Cup from Qatar and Russia for their continued support of brutality and global terrorism.

The trouble with playing a replay would then create a possible problem say for instance Manure getting beat by Barcelona 3-0, they then throw on an eligible player in the final 2 minutes. They could then say it should be replayed as this was done once before.

It's the rules you don't play eligible players no black and white. It's **** on the other team but at the end of the day, they knew the rules but still done it.
