This is a prescribed penalty for the offence committed. There is no doubt about the offence being committed. So what's corrupt about known rules being applied?

They should be ashamed to even write to UEFA to get re-instated.

Hope they get absolutely bummed in the groups

Its not corrupt. The stupidity of Warsaw putting on an ineligible sub in the last three minutes when they had the tie won. Would you still considerate corrupt if Leeds were in Celtics position? Oh hang on we were and we were happy to progress

I think Celtic should be too embarrassed to go through to the next round - completely out of their depth!!

Depends on who they draw. Win one tie and its worth 20m. Not to be sneezed at

Who made the mistake, surely someone, even the player should have been aware.

"Errr boss, you can't put me on, i'm banned don't forget"

Someone, somewhere, will currently be being taken out and shot!!

As for Celtic, rules or no rules, i'd be embarrassed to progress after a 6-1 agrregate defeat.

Of course we'd all be embarrassed to write the letter to UEFA!! WTF would we do with £20m?

Get real. Commercial decision that any club would make. We'd be up in arms if Leeds didn't.

    Yep they did T C.

Jock, my point is, if i was a fan of Celtic i'd be embarrassed to progress to the next round after a 6-1 aggregate loss. The player was on for a matter of minutes and made no difference whatsoever to the outcome of the tie, and my honest opinion is there should be a one-off replay.

Rules may be rules, bit it seems a tad harsh to me. <ok>

Apparently the player in question did sit out both legs of the previous round and the first leg against Celtic. So as far as virtually everyone concerned knew, he'd served his ban. Unfortunately for some reason he wasn't registered at the start of the competition so Uefa are saying he hasn't served his ban yet, even though in effect he has.

Rules are rules, but that is one hell of an administrative cock-up.

Yes, fans may get ashamed, but the money men who run the clubs don't know what the word means.

We had to play a deciding match at the Nou Camp ? Why aren't Celtic having to play one.

Think we lost 3-0 and were awarded the second game 3-0 which put us level.3-3.Celtic lost 4-1,awarded second game 3-0 so go through on away goals.

We were awarded the second-leg 3-0, so our tie finished 3-3 with no away goals. Replay was the only option.

Celtic were awarded the second leg 3-0, making it 4-4 on agg, Celtic win on away goals.
