Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has been on the winning side of a court case in Italy. Cellino had been taking action, via Cagliari Calcio, against the City of Cagliari after they withheld money to the Cagliari football club over disagreements regarding stadium repayments when Cellino owned the club. The money from Sky TV Italia was seized and held back from Cellino and the football club, and still wasn't paid when he left. Court action inevitably commenced and the now Leeds United owner made an agreement with the club's new president Tommaso Giulini that he, Cellino, would get the money in the event of winning the court case, not Giulini and not Cagliari Calcio. Therefore, whilst it's Cagliari Calcio who have won the return of the monies dating back to 2013, even after the City of Cagliari went through an appeal process, the actual revenue will go to Cellino. L'Unione Sard and Gazzetta dello Sport have both reported the news on Thursday but there's no hint on what Cellino plans to do with the funds. The Leeds United owner often seems to be connected to something ongoing in the Italian courts and it'll be a relief for him that this time things have gone his way. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/leeds-united-owner-gets-2m-boost-in-sky-tv-revenue-case
Cellino was quite clever there. When he sold Calgari, he had a clause written it that if he won the case, the money would solely go to him. These days 2m euros = 1.5m pounds
