Just watched a program called "Brian Johnson: A Life on the Road". This was from 2017 with Roger Daltrey (The Who front man, for some of our younger readers). I hadn't realised that he was born in Shepherd's Bush and along with Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon, played their early gigs at the Goldhawk Club. Of course, the rest is history. Apparently, he's an Arsenal supporter. He actually sounds like a good bloke, in contrast to Pete and Keith, from what I've seen and read. I remember reading a post here several years ago about celeb. QPR supporters, and would've thought Roger would be an R rather than an Arse, sorry... I mean Gooner. Anyone know where this thread is and who are our celeb. supporters? I think Bill Bailey was/is one.
LoH&G, There are many celebs on this forum. We have world class scientists, medical product peddlers, stage & playwrights, band members, medical academics, medical wonders ( self ) telecom technicians, fire chiefs / first responders, standup philosophers and the list goes on but we don't like to brag, except about our team.
"We" Didley. Which one of those are you? I'm guessing standup philosopher (comedian) . BILL BAILEY, t'is you. Philosopher/ comedian/ musician/ R's man, of course, all the clues are there! Looove yer work mate! Black Books, Cats Does Countdown, Black Books repeats, CDC repeats. Sorry, we don't get a lot, or I should say, enough of Brit. comedy down under.
Hi there 999. Thanks for that mate. Good to read through that again. Brings back memories of some of our old posters. Who can remember Tim, Swords, Stroller, Tring, 1982, Tooting, Flanman, Sooper, Uber and the likes? Funny chaps. Where are they now? BTW 999, I used to read a lot of the posts back then, but never posted until last week or so. Was a good read back then (still is mostly), but there was a lot of "infighting" and sensitive political banter. Lots of back and forth between our guys, esp. about Taarabt (sorry, is that name forbidden on this board?). So the reading waned, and I got real busy at work. Would always check in from time to time. But now that I have more spare time, I decided to take up the keyboard fingering and vent my feelings about our GREAT club. Let's hope for greater times ahead, URR's!!
Hi again Didley. I must have dyslexia or suttin' (no offence to those with dyslexia). I've just noticed that you wrote "...medical wonders ( self ) telecom technicians ...". But that still doesn't rule out you being BB. You may like to dabble in electronics/ communications, esp. if you're a medical wonder.
That **** could start a fight in an empty room. Kept the Mods on their toes til he got himself banned....could you imagine him on the politics thread
I'm the medical wonder and sometime wannabe musician, hence my collection of guitars on my avatar, for which l can't cram them all in. In truth unlike some plastics from the outside, there are many learned members here, from all walks of life, who continue to excel in their chosen field and we all support QPR. Its a good feeling.
Builder ( bordering on medically retired ) Wannabe musician, who enjoys playing various instruments. Part time standup philosopher - bullsh!t artist. From aged 10, lifetime QPR supporter - 51 years and counting. That's my whole life. Game, set & match. Thank you ballboys, thank you ballgirls. As you were..................... Is this, This Is Your Life??????????????
Yes, l remember Queens. Met him a couple of times with the other lads in Brisbane, to watch the team play live on the early matches.
Why, YES IT IS Mr. Squat. And we've brought back Swords Hoopster and Queenslander! for your amusement. We've put them in separate rooms and stuck a picture of Adel on either side of the adjoining wall. So sit back and enjoy! You've also won a lifetime supply of misery, delusion and despair, sprinkled sparsely with pseudo-hope of a return to the premier league, whilst really hoping to stay above the relegation zone. All thanks to the noble men at QPR HQ and your lifetime of dedication to the True Hoops! This has been Eamonn Aspel. Good night.
Not sure he falls in the celebrity field of things but Aidan McGee who does the sports reporting among other things on GB News is an R.......... https://twitter.com/aidanmageetv/with_replies?lang=en
I remember Queenslander. There must be something about being closer to the equator! If you're reading this QLDer, us cockroaches are not too happy about losing to you cane toads this year.
How can I forget him....yes he physically threatened me here (which he was banned for...I didn't report him, someone else did...I was a bit in shock) and on another board too (where he was also banned for the threat too). I once had a FB message from him too All scary stuff
