Keith Andrews is joining Bolton, thank god, one hell of a lump of ****e.
I'm not sure there was ever a possibility of him coming to Leeds once Grayson (can't spot a defender) was sacked, but thankfully it's Bolton who will have to suffer his inability and not us. <party>

Wasn't worst player we had at Euros but I suppose thats not saying a lot. I suppose it won't be long till we have scouts working across Europe with our new found wealth. In eighteen months we could be calling for Warnocks head cos were not looking like making a Champions League spot

    Don't be stupid...

We're getting Guardiola in next season after we've gone up, Colin's retired and he's finished his year out of the game. <ok>

Although i thought he was fortunate to sign for Blackburn in the first place, he did well at Ipswich (9 goals in 20 apps) which earned him a 6 month contract at West Brom in which he played 14 and scored twice. Is he really that bad?

Except Sodje, Naylor, Kisnorbo and Gorkss. You have an unnecessary, off-topic dig and I'll make an unneccessary, off-topic reply.

Not exactly long term, though, were they? And prone to injury too!

Andrews would do well for us. Not sure where the hatred comes from.

They say 'get peanuts, sign monkeys', but Grayson did well to get the australopithecus human-like beings he did with the pittance he had available. Sodje, Naylor and Kisnorbo were all good short-term fixes. The only 'human' on that list, to continue the metaphor, (i.e. the only long-term option) was Gorkss, and by an amazing coincidence he was also the only one he wasn't granted money to sign.

I've always said good defenders cost more than good goalscorers at this level. Mainly because defenders need to prove themselves more and strikers appear to be able to ascend the league ladder a lot easier. So when you get a disappointing transfer pot, it's really a good achievement to get solid, commanding centre backs, even if it's only effective for a single season or a loan spell.

People need to move on, I only talk about SG when he still gets needlessly slagged off. Give me a bait and I'll take it, I'm only a fish. <ok>

I don't understand why people don't think he's good enough. I think he is better than what we have and fits into a team looking for promotion. I don't care about what players do at international level because I see that as kind of irrelevant especially when a player did so well last year in the champ and did OK in the prem.

    I would've taken him

I also think Andrews is a good player at this level, for what it's worth. In a fairly **** Ipswich side, he got a brilliant number of goals. Since Howson's departure, we've missed a dynamic goalscorer from midfield.

Judging him based on international games against top flight standard opposition is pretty harsh. Same goes for Paul Green. They could be a very shrewd partnership in our engine room. Unless we go spending mad in the event of a takeover, it's unreasonable for us to demand Premiership-standard signings. Top Championship will do, and for me, Keith Andrews fits in that bracket.
