Makes sense with only 18 months left on his contract. Hoping to sign a replacement but doesn’t sound likely
I liked him and 100 apps is impressive. Congrats on the good transfer. Not many players left older than me now.
Thanks Cedric and good luck. He never shied away from hard work or putting his head in where it hurt (shown by the 4000 times his head needed to be taped up during games). I’m slightly uncomfortable about not replacing though. We have many positions in the squad that are seriously bloated. RB is definitely not one of them. Ballsy move given our proximity to the drop to leave half a season to two youth players that have only just recently got involved in the first team...
Not a player that I particularly wanted to lose...a decent professional who wasn't helped by being here when almost everyone struggled. Good luck, Cedric.
Hardly ideal though. Two youth players and a midfielder. Okay if we were facing mid table obscurity, but we’re in a relegation battle. It’s a risk to not replace.
People saying that €11 isn't that much, inter have an option to buy, if other teams are interested and Cedric prefers them then Inter still might not get there man.
Very small sample of games, especially for JWP and Ramsay. I like that Ralph shows faith in the youth but this is a risk if we don’t replace. We’re dealing with just under half a season of games, there’s a lot of points up for grabs and anything could happen. We’re still just 3 points above the relegation zone.
I don't see what the massive worry is, all 4 that have gone out have done sod all since Ralph has come in. If anything he has brought back in 2 players in Romeu and Bednerak, 2 names who go straite into the first 11. Also JWP had increased 10fold. I am not worried at all.
Cedric leaving isn't the issue. It's the noises that we're not going to be bringing anyone in that is the concern.
I can see why we don't want to replace now. I also think rb postion is fine until the end of the season.
If we played a flat back four, yes. But we don't. He'd find himself playing RWB. People rightly highlight Cedric's inability to cross a ball. But I'd be just as concerned at seeing Stephens popping up on the right wing. Or trying to beat a LB for pace.
