I'd love it if Cech was our number 1 GK, coupled with our better and more solid defence, he would be a great piece to the puzzle.
Would depend on him, think Wenger would keep him as a number 3 or put the number 2 spot down to him VS Ospina, but the Q is would Shezny accept that?
There's no way we'd be able to keep 3 first choice keepers happy (and regardless of people's opinion on each of their abilities, Szczesny was our 1st choice for years up until xmas, Ospina has been our 1st choice for the last few months, and Cech would obviously want to sign to be 1st choice). If we do sign him then I really hope that he is still as good as we all remember him being, and hasn't declined drastically. He hasn't had much football since jointly winning the golden gloves with Szczesny.
I'd take Cech, he's still only 32 so he's got another 6-8 years ahead of him at the top. Also I'd keep Ospina and Szcz and sell Martinez. I still think Szcz will become the better GK out of him and Ospina, but Szcz needs a ****ing rocket up his arse and signing Cech would be just tha
Metro reckon it's a done deal http://metro.co.uk/2015/05/19/its-a...ed-to-have-agreed-petr-cech-transfer-5204936/
I'd sign Cech, make Szcz our number two and let him know he will lay all cup games and have a chance to take the first team spot if he performs well enough and takes his chances, he's young enough and had enough game time to stay if faith is shown that he will return to the number one spot in future. Sell it to him as learning from one of the best. Ospina I'd keep as third choice if he is happy with that or sell him on. Cech is the better keeper and Szcz has been with us for a long time, developed a lot, performed to a high standard and I still believe has world class potential which I hope he fulfills with us rather than someone else. So ospina would find himself surplus.
His family is based in London so a move to Arsenal is definitely possible. He is a top class keep and still young. Would definitely be a quality addition to the team. It however means one of the PIG or Ospina-Colada is going to be consigned to history I'm afraid.
Don't think we want to encourage Shez to lay during games, with his already cocky attitude, him laying through games will just compound the problems. .
Ospina again yesterday showed the massive need for us to buy another GK, he's not good enough to be our number 1 GK.
