Newcastle will travel to Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday, 26th October, the Club has confirmed.
The draw for the last 16 of the tournament was made on Saturday lunchtime - coincidentally just hours before the sides played each other in Premier League action, with United running out 3-1 winners.

And they will face each other once more, this time for a place in the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup, on Wednesday, 26th October, with an 8pm kick-off at Ewood Park.

Confident on this tie after seeing them up here. Hoillet looks like their biggest threat and we should be ok if we're able to keep him quiet.

Im normally ****ting it for away ties but not this one!

I think I'm going to this one. Can't wait, I love away matches! Hopefully Vuckic will be starting.

Should make this one thinking about it. Think we'll win, with a half decent team out.

Do you think we will play a full strength team for this one? It is against Premiership opposition and Pardew did say he was going for this cup

I reckon we'll play as strong a squad as is available with some youth on the bench to bring on in the later stages.

I read a quote where Pardew said he expects both teams will be making changes. I would imagine Harper, Guthrie, Gosling, Marveaux, Sammy, Lovenkrands, Shola won't be too far away from the starting XI

We will play pretty much the same team as the last round. Maybe with a couple of other first teamers coming in. The likes of Cabaye and Jonas.

For me we should put out our first choice eleven. They could easily come away with a win and then with a bit of luck you can find yourself getting Southampton or Palace at home in the quarters and then after that, sky's the limit!

I get the feeling Bkackburn will field a weakened side because their priority is the league.

However, Kean may be desperate to win every game to ensure he stays in the job. So may therefore play a stronger side.

The game may come at a good time to give Ben Arfa and Santon 90 minutes

Ignore me. This was Blackburns team in the last round...

    Bunn
    Olsson
    Givet
    Hanley
    Lowe
    Grella
    Petrovic
    Rochina
    Vukcevic
    Blackman
    Roberts

If they play anything like that, I would like us to play a mixture of starters and fringe players. If we win this you just never know what might happen!

    ------------Gosling-------Abeid----------------

    ---Marveaux--------HBA----------Vuckic-------

    ---------------------Ba------------------------

Bench - Krul, Santon, Obertan, Cabaye, Sameobi, Best and Jonas

    What do you think?

Very nice. I ummed and ahhhed regarding Santon. But feel that he will be starting every game by the time the Blackburn game comes around. Marveaux, HBA and Vuckic will rotate during the game as well, in my opinion!
