Did someone retire after a backlash from 'the club' giving up on the FA cup?

I suppose CBK might be interested what with the free season tickets....

Oh wait, there is no subsidised away match travel. Nah, he won't be interested.:)

As an ex HR Manager (and recruitment specialist)…….what an awful job/person description etc.

I'm sure someone knows what they are looking for but whenever I read something like, "Exceptional IT skills", I despair for my profession. The problem with generalisations like that is they actually tell you nothing. I mean, what are we talking about here; someone knowledgeable about social media or are we looking at quantum computing? Its meaningless. Much of the rest of it is written in the same way.

It would also appear that they are targeting Saints supporters given the two season tickets and subsidised Saints apparel. Possibly, a mistake. I'm not sure you want someone to be too emotionally involved. Imagine what would happen after every loss!!

Nevertheless, an interesting job for someone.

Great way to sell it. Earn in a year what some of your colleagues earn in half a week!

Dan - I only get Job Seekers because I have worked hard through my 37 years career and have a fully paid up house and savings so its £71pw for me. No Benefits Street for me I'm afraid
Still fingers crossed for a quick return to work even though it won't be with Saints on those wages

I'm going to apply, mostly because I could actually help the club at the same time as helping supporters.

However, I'm not entirely sure that's what they want.

No mention of "improving the matchday experience", so that's a bonus.

I imagine you'll spend most of your time trying to fill those empty seats prior to the stadium expansion.

"Exceptional IT skills" = knowing where the Q key is on a keyboard and how to use the send and delete function.

I assumed that had more to do with policing Facebook and Twatter, and stamping down on negative references to the club. Although now the Don has gone, probably not.

I think the first thing the successful candidate would have to concentrate on would be our below-average attendances. For a team playing attractive football and sitting in 8th place in the Premier League, our home attendances are surprisingly low. Up until this point we are averaging 29,843, which is only 91.2% of our nominal capacity of 32,689. This puts us in 15th place in the Premier League attendance table measured by percentage of capacity. By comparison a team like Fulham, rooted at the bottom of the league, average 96.8% of their stated capacity, while Cardiff and Norwich both somehow average in excess of 100% capacity. I know some of our shortfall is due to the segregation sections put in for certain matches, but this is something that can surely be addressed by better stewarding. The lifeblood of any football club is the money from ticket sales, and if we are ever even going to dream of moving to a bigger ground or expanding St. Mary's, our home attendance will have to be improved.

Can I have the job please, Frau Liebherr?

I don't think % capacity is as relevant as actual attendance. It only becomes relevant if a team has 100% attendance in a small stadium, so is unable to increase attendance (i.e. like Saints at The Dell).

That's my plan. I plan to go back to uni in September, get a PGCE, work for a few years in a decent state school or a private school, then a few years down the line emigrate to America and become a teacher of a high school in a quintessentially American town. That's the plan at least.

I agree. A small stadium also takes relative population size out of the equation.

However, how about the phenomenon that even with a capacity of 15,575, the Dell would often have seats available..? And what about the phenomenon that when a football club moves to a bigger stadium, suddenly thousands of extra regular supporters spring out of the earth..? Why are Man City wanting to increase the capacity of their stadium when they don't fill it all the time..?

Calculating the ideal capacity for a stadium in any given area is a minefield of variables.

You don't anything of his circumstances or whether this was said tongue in cheek or anything. That comment is a little unnecessary.
