I think these two will form a formidable partnership next season and you'd be hard pressed to find a better combo to provide service to our strikers. Assuming cazorla settles in fairly quickly I believe him and arteta could be the two players who end up pulling the strings. Unlike Arshavin Cazorla has a terrific work rate as well as creativity. I'm really looking forward to these two playing along side one another.

Yep, can see that. Arteta playing deeper and Cazorla likes to roam so it's vital that they get a good understanding and they will because they both have brilliant technical ability. Looking forward to watching this partnership.

Yes, I reckon they will form a great partnership.
Having Arteta also eases the pressure of rushing back Wilshere, Jack should take all the times he needs to fully recover and I don't expect him to be playing in the starting 11 before January.

Yes both can dictate the pace of a game, Arteta while sitting deep and directing play and Cazorla can either speed up or slow down the tempo of a game for us. Both very crucial elements which I feel were lacking last season...

The comparison with Xavi and Iniesta is a big one to live up to, but they do look like they will really compliment each other's game. Both quality MF players and a massive asset to Arsenal. I think Wenger has pulled of a masterstroke signing Cazorla and at a reported £15m - he has got him for a ****ing bargain <ok>

Yeah piskie I agree which is why i said our version instead of like xavi and iniesta. Your talking about the best midfield combo of our generation but in these two I think we have a similar combo when you take into consideration technical ability and playing style. Like I said if Santi manages to settle in quickly then it will be a formidable pairing.

I agree with you fella. They look like they are going to form a great partnership. It's an exciting season ahead.

I'd still like to see us sign another defensive player though. Either Sahin or M'Vila would be ideal, the latter being more defensive obviously.

Wilshere and Carzorla would be a better comparison

I bet Wenger plays Cazorla on the wing with Diaby or Ramsey in the middle...

Well, I don't bet that, but it would be bloody typical of him.

I'd say Arteta is more like Xabi Alonso, and Cazorla like Ozil, but I can see the Barca comparison too. If we play them both in the middle like you all suggest, I agree, we'd be formidable. Based on all these comparisons, we'd be more like the teams that are supposed to be better than us.

Wenger said that he operates well on both flanks and through the middle, so I think he means he will utilise him in all of those positions, possibly rotating him during games. I think the comparison with Ozil is a good one, they are very similar players.
