Just been looking around (not around this forum though) and notice lots of clamor for eisfeld to start ahead of ramsey. On some levels i find this hilarious given the out cry following his signature so i'm glad hes doing well. However i think its a bit premature demanding for him to be second or third choice attacking midfielder (a position around which our team revolves). Ramsey is getting better and is still improving. Hes got much more experience as well as composure at present. Eisfeld should be given game time now and then but used sparingly.
He looked dynamic, willing and interested, 3 things that can not be said about Ramsey. Instead of getting the ball and slowing the game down (a la Ramsey), he just ran at the defence. And he's willing to shoot from range too, something we seem to lack. He could be a useful difference maker. As others have said, he plays like a Dortmund player, not an Arsenal player, it gives us some unpredictability.
pre injury ramsey used to shoot from range too not to mention drive forward at every given oppertunity and is reverting back to his dynamism
Every week they should have a lottery amongst the stewards and ball boys with the winner getting picked ahead of Ramsey. Regardless of sex or age.
Wilshere is back now and Diaby will be back soon. People need to relax our midfield is the area we are looking strongest.
And rosicky if he can capture the form of last season are mf could be CM: Arteta/Coq/Frimpong Wilshere/Diaby/Ramsey AM: Cazorla/Rosicky/Arshavin/ Rosicky can play in CM roles and Wilshere/Ramsey can play AM lots of choppy changey. Not to mention eisfeld, gnarby and yennaris from the youth teams looking for even more spots.
With a fully fit midfield Ramsey will only get game time as a sub - don't see why he needs so much hate directed towards him, he's actually been very useful this season. As for Eisfield he is on the fringe of the team and will have to continually show the form he did yesterday to earn himself a chance in a non-league cup game as central midfield is very packed for us. He did really well and he has looked great whenever i have seen him play - i hope we get to see more from him but i think next season may be his break through year.
Unfortunately, Ramsey is the latest scapegoat for many who contribute to this forum and are becoming so blinkered that they blame him for everything that goes wrong and never acknowledge any of his positive contributions. What makes me laugh about this are those that won't accept his rehabilitation from a very serious injury has impeded his development yet make claims that a fully fit Wilshire or Rosicky will magically produce the goods. I hope they are true - but in the case of both Ramsey and the equally unfortunate Eduardo, we have two case studies that return to top form is a long, slow and painful road. Fortunately Ramsey and Wilshire are young enough to recover. I am not sure that Rosicky is.
Unfortunately, many of Ramsey's best qualities are not ones that English fans are likely to appreciate. He is almost the opposite of Steven Gerrard, who's few positive qualities seem to be appreciated far more than they should, in my opinion. Ramsey puts in a lot of work that doesn't make it to the highlights and makes the players around him look better, not just himself.
To be honest, this was going on last season when these boards were a bitch fest. It's not new, but it is over the top and you're right to point out that it fails to acknowledge the contribution he makes. Last season Ramsey basically held our MF together when Fab and Na$ri ****ed off and we had injures and new players coming in. I can understand why people are frustrated with Ramsey, because like Walcott the expectation is high and he doesn't always meet that measure. Incidently however, Walcott was also injured for most of his first formative seasons at Arsenal - and is now demonstrating why he's such a valuable player and why people were right to stick by him.
