So Caulker had a great season with us. He's playing very well for Spurs this season. Is he any better this season than when he was with us or is his inclusion in the England team solely because he's not playing for us anymore.... are we that unfashionable ? Is there that much snobbery at the FA ? Is this the reason why Nathan Dyer and maybe Leon never get a look in at international level ?
Well bothroyd got a game for england while at the Scummers so i doubt there's any anti Welsh thing going on. It's frustrating to not see Leon get a chance, he just wouldn't have allowed the pathetic possession stats England had vs Italy. As much as that frustrates me tho, there's a big upside to those guys not getting called up however many times a season.
But there is a downside. Imagine what our boys could learn training with such stalwarts of the game such as Downing, Adam Johnson, Shelvey, Jenkinson... I could go on.
I honestly believe that if Harry had got the england job, we would have had a couple of Swans inclusions in the squad. Didn't he say after our home game against spurs last season that the future England manager should take a look at how we play to move forward or something to that effect? The trouble with England is that they don't seem to want to move forward and will stick with a 442 hoofball with a load of dinosaurs, and seem blind to some of the talent coming through. They were never going to win the euros, so why not give the youth a chance to prove themselves and build a team for the world cup? Not my concern though, and I do love to see them fail, I just find it baffling
Thats Hodgson for you. He has always shown disdain for us. never gave us credit for our performances against Fulham or WBA. He is another loathsome man. I listened to him on the radio yesterday, i think, where he was going on about, how he was not interested in teams and players that can keep possession in their own half as it means absolutely nothing and anyone can do. I know it sounds paranoid but cant help feeling it was a dig at us. Mind you i dont think it is a bad thing that any of our players are not in International sides. less chance of injuries. But to get back to the question. Caulker played every week last season. where as now its every other week. I think he is a class player who will go on to be an England regular.
Caulker did well for us and was and looked a class above any of our defenders and now he is playing with better players that was only a matter of time waiting for his chance....he benefited by playing premiership football with us but was in the U21 side.....He is one player we have missed this season but we have not missed Joe allen or sinclair or brendan....
Agree , and we're a better side for it to. More options on the bench with a variation in our play which wasn't there last year

not really...If i get stupid remarks then i will give it back 10 fold.......also i cant stand we are better than you, my dads bigger than your dad, we are higher than you in the league, this player is better than that player.etc...etc...etc....jacks who take the piss will get it back every time.....
