Spurs fan here. First of all, congratulations on what has been a terrific season; it's great to see a newly-promoted team like yourselves come into the league and play football the right way, when you could have easily gone down the Stoke route (who have more funds and resources yet still don't adapt.. see record signing of Crouch). The main point of this article is just to gather your thoughts on Steven Caulker. I've only seen him once in a Spurs shirt against Arsenal, but he was unfortunate enough to give away 2 penalties, from what I recall. What with Nelsen, Gallas and King all getting on, do you forsee a big future for the lad back at the Lane? Thanks, and keep doing your thing!
pretty poor I'm afraid , too light weight, can't read the game. goes missing ,poor header of the ball ,doesn't like moving from edge of the box , what more can i say , except he needs more time with us to develop:
Agree, he shows some potential but would definately benefit from another 5 years under Brendan Rodgers befor going back to White Hart Lane.
Agree Bonymaen, he will be better off paddling in the shallow end before he dives in the deep end. I would have thought in about 3 or 4 seasons
Agree he's pretty crap at the moment and would never get into the spurs lineup lol , it will take years for the swans to sort him out, but I suppose we are ready to suffer for the greater good
but spurcap he has been superb, he did get himself in a bit of bother and was arrested in swansea but it was dealt with and forgotten, he has definately benefited from his loan spell with us and he is enjoying his football and we are enjoying him. ....could he get into the spurs side?? most definately and that is bad news for us as we hate to see him go.....At the end of the day its all down to Harry on whether he thinks he can make the spurs first team or not and if not then i hope harry will let him come back to us for another season. my gut feeling is though that once brendan writes his end of season report on culks then Harry will want to keep him.....
Think the OP has seen through this one guys! Outstanding young talent and is twice the player going back to you. Great bit of business for both clubs. If/ when 'Arry goes will that make a difference or does it make it even more likely he'll go back? A new manager will want to see all the talent available to him I suppose.
My thoughts are that he should probably be on of your first choice CBs next season. Definitely good enough
Thanks for the replies! Seems very promising. I imagine he'll probably start next season on the bench, but then once Ledley and Daws get their usual injuries he'll step in and who knows? By the sounds of it, if he keeps improving, he could be the mainstay at the heart of Spurs' defence for a very long time. See you on the 1st of April. (April fools day - bit worrying)
Has played very well except for last couple of games . He has played awesome the last few games , hit a whole new offensive phase IMO !
