Build the defence around him. He's got way more ability than he's showed with us. Just needs a kick up the backside and a regular and consistent CB partner who's vocal/organises. With the right coaching/motivation he should be the best CB in the Championship by a country mile and a Premier League regular.

Wouldn´t that suggest that we get rid?.....after all maybe he thinks he´s too good for us like a number of the others we´ve endured.

Yes that pisses me off totally. The guy has been **** for us.

My only thoughts are that we seem to get rid very quickly and the younger players we get rid of tend to become instantly better at another club.

The problem must be within our club, I remember us signing Jamie Cureton, didn't work for whatever reason and then he went to Colchester where he proceeded to score 23 goals in 44 games for them.

Because Caulker has youth on his side, I'd like to see us actually get the best out of him rather than sell him at a potential loss.

You are correct Mr Goat. McIntyre explained why players turn to sh*t when they join us and he pinpoints the Paladini purge of 2005 as being the beginning of it. There's no foundations within the Club and no continuity to the traditions and especially a clear philosophy on what's expected of the players. It all contributes to a rudderlessness and no sense of purpose that ultimately leaks down to the players and manifests itself in underachievement. That overhaul needs to begin now.

It can't be used as an excuse for failure however. Ramsey & Ferdinand are already making noises in that direction and it doesn't sound good.

Fair point but no matter how bad an organisation you find yourself in, personal pride, professionalism, dedication and responsibility to the contract that you have signed should mean something, after all, we have ´older, less talented and less well-paid´ players who have shown more commitment. I am not for one instance saying that Caulker is a bad player but for those that go to the games and have watched this guy every other week it appears that our initial excitement of him being signed as a young, hungry, talented, one for the future, right sort hasn´t quite turned out that way. As for his off-field antics well....that´s endemic across the UK.
