Just a question does the team play with more passion when he starts/ is on the pitch?

    IMO yes we do.

Is it passion or is it just headless chicken running and dodgy tackles? after 1 minute he was shackled with a yellow card so we played the way we have played without him. The **** tackles do nothing for the team and nothing for Catts himself as he has been injured by his own dodgy tackling more times than enough.
If we can calm him down a bit then he would be back to the player we bought from Wigan and, back to the player who would drive us forward with his passion.

Cattermole is now 24 years old and he really ought to know better than picking up a yellow card within 2 mins. Ofcourse he doesn't intend to be booked... After being out of action for a while he really ought to use his brain a little more and get upto pace of the game before sliding in.

I have the feeling that crunching tackles as opposed to taking a moment to think about the situation is still the overiding mentality that prevails within the footballing philosophy of Cattermole, even at the age of 24. 24-26 are very important years for Cattermole and I expect much more improvement in terms of brain useage will become apparent. If that occurs, Cattermole can become an England regular, if not, he will stick to picking up yellow cards after 2 minutes and fail to fulfill his potential.

His 3rd this season yeah? Christ almighty. We are a much better side when he plays. I watched Giroud commit a worse challenge than Cattermole did and he never got spoken to. He never wasted possession yesterday either but Wilshere did. I cant work out why the only thing people see is the foul (which was milliseconds late when you look at the replay). We do play better with him but arsenal's antics chucking themselves about trying to get him sent off were disgusting.

I entirely agree however what Cattermole needs to learn is that when we play clubs like Arsenal, the opposition are going to dive like a bunch of pussies.

In the bigger picture of yesterdays game, Cattermoles profile/media image is likely to remain with him for many a year, he built it for himself and that is a reflection of his reality irrespective of whether he deserves to be booked or not in upcoming games. All of the years of media hype will follow him in the future and he will need to try extra hard to remove those associations by changing his game. I don't like it no more than yourself, however this is what we must consider when Cattermole starts a game for SAFC.

It is clear that Wenger instructed his players to dive at any opportunity yesterday and the ref eventually sent one of the dirty feckers off.

But if he played a bit smarter he wouldnt be such a liability. We are usually better with him though the first half was pretty poor. MoN said he took him off at half time because of his yellow card. Nuff said!

He knows he's a target for both the referee and the oppo. He's got to wise up to that and not be so wild in his tackling, or his future career will just be the same-old-same.

I would play with passion, you need more than passion to be a Premier League player, I like Catts but he just doesn't offer us anything when in possession. Its a harsh business but somebody needs to be brave enough to say he inst good enough and stop praying that he turns good.

Then you haven't watched him play this season Danny - best player prior to injury bar none - including Rose, Sess, Mignolet.

His improvement this season has been phenomenal and if you can;t see that then you really have been watching a different game to most on here

Are you serious? Im a season ticket holder in the East stand and he has only played 3 home games (maybe 2) this season and "phenomenal" is not a word to describe him. Im not going to call him etc but he has been in our team during some of our worst performances against Boro, sent off against Morcombe, Arsenal & West Ham he played well but in games where we didnt have much of the ball. Hes a good player but offers very little in possession and the facts back that up.

Love his work rate but hes had terrible luck with injuries but we haven't seen enough of him this season to see any improvement and the weekend did not help but thats partly down to MON throwing him in unfit.

A fit Cattermole offers work rate, drive, leadership and determination however I stand by my quote that he offers very little going forward.

Yeah **** off tit. I hate people who try to force their opinions on people. I sit in the north stand and when I've watched Cattermole this season I have seen the same player O'Neill has seen and offered a new contract to (and also stated that he would play for England before the end if that contract. Although I guess you know more about football than he does. What do you do for a living by the way? Manager a premier league team? No? Didn't think so

Wasn't having a go mate honestly. Not like I am with ginger twat. I watched some of the passes he's played this season and, when fit, he's been our best distributor going forward and at the back. Agree injury has blighted him but 3 yellows tells a story even with only 15 or so appearances you'd normally see more than 1 fifth if those games with a yellow. I saw what I believe O'Neill saw in him which made him say what he said about england and the contract. Just my opinion (and a lot if others this season as well)

I think Catts is probably my favourite player at safc atm, the passion and effort he gives is tremendous and I genuinely think he is improving. Probably the best passer in our midfield, breaks up play and disrupts the opposition and this season is starting to drive forward with the ball as well. He has been hampered by injuries which has halted his progress further.

When fit one of the first names on the team sheet for me. Sadly I think he has no chance with England because of the reputation built by the media of him and he is never going to stop jumping into tackles.

We have only won 1 league game this season with cattermole in the team LOL that says it all mug man. O'Neill hasn't got a clue about footy if he thinks cattermole will play for England one day. if he does I eat my own sh** LOL & one more thing, didn't O'Neill say Ibrahimovic is overrated LOL that says it all about O'Neill.
