At the meeting Di Canio is said to have launched into one of his infamous criticisms of players when he was forcefully brought to a halt by the words of Lee Cattermole. The midfielder, who Di Canio stripped of his captaincy as well as his No. 6 shirt this past summer, told the manager that he was the one to blame and that the players had lost faith in his controversial methods...

We'll never know the truth unless one of them decides to spill the beans on twatter.

Better to look forward to our new manager whoever that maybe, i just hope it's very soon cos i can't take much more of all this 'who will it be' suspense.

Cattermole who had worked to bring himself back into the fold after all but leaving?

Can't see it being him. I would have put him more in the Boxer mold.

It's quite noticeable not one player has gone on twitter to offer him any support or thanks for everything?

Hopefully we will see Cabral used tomorrow night and Cattermole, Karlsson, Ba and co.

His body language was sus during the game, for someone who has been out for so long & with a point to prove. He lost the ball then walked back shoulders slumped instead of chasing, he had only been on 10 minutes so wasn't tired. Did anyone else notice?

I don't want Cabral near the team till he earns his spot

We'll get relegated playing players with his current attitude

And they didn't do that with MoN

Sackings are sensitive topics and players tend to stay away from it on social websites

If any player tried to get PDC sacked we should sell them. Poison.

If Bally puts out the under 21's I would applaud to the highest of heavens.

    And Bardsley too perhaps?

And since we are in the forgive and forget mode perhaps bally will have Peter Sutcliffe as his number 2 and Ian Brady as the physio.

Rose West is working in the canteen at the training ground.

Seriously guys, anyone watch the Di Canio interview after the WBA on BBC?

He's lost the plot. He was rambling. Maybe the stress and pressure has gotten to him.

He set out with good goals, but his methods didnt work. When the entire team is against the manager, the solution has to be to let the manager go. You can't replace the team mid-season. Your owner look at the fixture list and he can't see where the next point, not to mention pointS are supposed to come from.

Any incoming manager will have it a lot easier and automatically get the support of the players. Maybe PDCs good work on the fitness front will pay dividents further down the line.

Copied from a Daily Telegraph article 'The stunned players were subject to an explosion of rage from Di Canio as he began an assault on former club captain Lee Cattermole, blaming him for West Brom’s third goal.
Cattermole, who had come on as a substitute midway through the second half, asked why he was being picked out for blame for the defeat and was quickly backed by team-mates.
What followed has been described by one witness as “all hell breaking loose” as several players went nose to nose with Di Canio and refused to back down when he challenged them.
Significantly, this did not just include players Di Canio had inherited like Cattermole and Carlos Cuellar, but also several he had brought to the club over the summer.
Interestingly, one of the players who felt the most aggrieved about the way he had been treated was Italian international winger Emanuele Giaccherini, who had been hauled off at half-time against WBA. The former Juventus winger was one of Sunderland’s star signings, but felt he had no support or received any sort of encouragement from Di Canio.
The row was brought to a tense conclusion when one player commented: “All you have done since you got here is criticise us and the old manager [Martin O’Neill]. The difference is we liked him and would run through walls for him. Nobody likes you here. Nobody wants you here.”

Run through walls for O'Neill !? ...yep if only that was true

    Interesting

Didn't see the third wba goal, was he at fault?

Also there is absolutely no chance Cuellar would square up with any manager...
