Just been reading an article...and look what MON has said.

"I hope we have Sessegnon and Cattermole back for the Cup game. Will I protect others? It's a good point. We have a couple of niggling injuries to contend with."

Possibly a big indication that they both will go straight into the first 11 once back.

Sess is a no brainer, but would you have any qualms about Catts coming back. Would it be harsh dropping either Colback or Gardner?

He is the captain, and IMO we do miss him. Colback maybe a better passer, but we need Catts to dominate the midfield, he gives us that bite.

Aussie, having Catts back also frees up Gardner to play his game. Him and young Colback are too similar and therefore I think we need Catts in there.

Catts for sure. In fact, think MON can't wait to send him out to play with Fellaini.

    Can't wait myself.

This, I much prefer Vaughan, he seems relaxed and calm on the ball, and can pick out a pass.

Sess and Cattermole both back is a no-brainer. Sess will allow who ever else is up front a lot more room as he will probably have two markers, and Catts will stop Fellaini running midfield which he did in the first game.<magic>

This is a good point. Fellaini and Cahill need to be watched, as does the Baines attacking threat. Catts would stop a lot of Cahill and Fellainis antics and I think putting some pace in Campbell on the right, we would keep Baines busy defending instead of attacking. Larsson looks dead on his feet at the minute and I'd rest him. Kyriagos at right back would also be a decent move to give Bardsley a couple of games rest.

    Cattermole and Gardner for me.

I think Colback is too similar to Cattermole so one or the other. I like Vaughan as a player as well, just think Gardner provides more of a goal threat (especially for home games)

I know you're thinking about the squad here Cest but I think Bardsley may disagree with that!! (Which is another thing I love about the bloke)

He does not play RB he is a centre back and plays much like Turner. It would be suicide playing him at RB. Would be much better to put Oshea there even though he is much better at CB.

Think if you'd asked this at the beginning of December most (not me mind) but most would have said no way leave him out of the side - but now most people think he is a very important part of our side - I definitely do. He has turned into a captain since O'Neill took over - a proper leader and an excellent player with vision and drive and determination - he can even play some lovely passes - and he's only 23!!

Cattermole and Sessegnon straight back into the starting 11 for me. Colback is a very close second, pushing Cattermole all the way for the first name on the sheet.

Hmm, are you saying Catts is a good passer of the ball? I must have blinked and missed it. Undoubtedly he is a ball winner and can stop the opposition midfield playing so he is usually worth his spot for that alone, providing he does not get sent off. But he looks as if he will never score and he needs, a bit like our CBs to lay the ball of to somebody like Frankie to pass and start the attacking moves off. You will be telling me next that John O'Shea and Micheal Turner are good at passing.

Cattermole epitomises the work ethic that our squad needs to display in order to rattle the biggest clubs in the league and for that reason, he starts every game for me. Cattermoles urgency conducts through the whole team when he is on the pitch and playing to the best of his ability. Lets not forget that Cattermole is still young (24 tommorow) and the best of his abilities will be made visible over the next 5-6 years.
