Our acadamey has at last received Category One status which is great news. On top of this Armstrong, Woodman and Satka have also signed professional deals.

I'm too lazy to post the link but a very good day for the club.

Pardew has even been talking about a summer move for Lukaku which would be unreal (so unreal that I very much doubt it would happen) but it's just nice to hear some good news from the club and some ambitious words from the manager. Pardew also confirmed that we would definitely be adding a creative midfielder to the squad in the summer.

Let's just hope we top this day of positivity off with a decent result tonight <ok>

    NEWCASTLE UNITED ACADEMY MISSION STATEMENT.

Newcastle United Academy aims to make a positive contribution to the personal, social, academic and technical development of all schoolboy and scholarship players.

By providing a safe, professional learning environment it is expected that individuals will be given the opportunity to maximise their potential. In pursuit of this goal, Academy staff will help each player to 'be the best that they can be.'

Ultimately, the objective is to produce 'young men' who will go on to represent Newcastle United's first team.

Terrible game for the kid to make his introduction, the rest of the team just didn't turn up. Even Messi and Iniesta mightn't have made a difference.

but these two can't even make our bench, what with Sola's and Obatan's form keeping them out

    Fantastic news.
I love it when Pards talks all sexy and that about players like Lukaku.
It won't happen but as a fan you like to dream.

All he needs to do is convince Ashley to part with at least £17million for a single player. Perhaps he could convince him to also push the boat out for Remy whilst he's at it? Remy and Lukaku next season. Dreaming is all we have left.

    Is there a rolls-about-laughing smiley?

Pardew didn't actually say he wanted to sign Lukaku, though that's what the headlines are making of it. He said Everton would have the same trouble holding Lukaku that we will have with Remy. Sorry.
