Apparently from the start of net season our academy will be improved to 'Category A' status.

Basically means we get to have a wider look at youth players rather than the current 90 minute radius that's in effect.

    • The top level category will require clubs to have an approximate budget of £2.325m.
    • Have a full time staff of at least 18.
    • Provide at least 5 hours contact time with players each week.
    • The current 90 minute travel rule will not apply.

Can I point out that I am against this rule by the way.

Poorer clubs will be set further apart from the Premier League/Championship and the game will be less of a competition as a result.

I am against it solely because it enables 'big' clubs to poach players on the cheap instead of poaching them for 1m+ in compensation. Effectively cutting off potentially huge revenue for lower league clubs. All this will serve to do therefore is keep the elite clubs in the prem and shatter the dreams of lower league clubs surging or gradually building through the leagues to attain top flight football.

The idea is to produce better homegrown talent for the benefit of England, but to be honest the history and integrity of our league system is far more important for me and should be for fans that pay week in week out to watch their local clubs, as opposed to breeding the next generation of bottlers to play for England

I have the same concerns with the idea of B teams in the Championship. When AVB comes our with a comment that the elite prem teams should have a place for their B teams in the second tier, it makes me ****ing angry. What of the teams that already occupy that league, why only the elite prem teams. Why should everything be geared towards maintaining the position of the biggest clubs at the top of the top flight. And in the instance why Chelsea, 8 years of on and off success does not make a club elite. They were nothing more than mediocre at best until Mourinho took over...

    Sorry... Rant over

Richard Stearman, Joe Mattock and Andy King thats it

Matt Piper was the only other decent player
