As the title says Casual Fan aka Shanghai Swan has received a permanent ban from not just our board but the whole site.

    Here are the facts.

This was down to me and me only going to the Supermod who in turn made the decision. I did speak to Mabon about it first and asked his opinion. That will remain private unless Mabon himself decides if he wants to make his opinion on the matter public. I did not speak to Ash about it as he has been away on his honeymoon, he knew nothing about it at all. In fact he's probably going to find out by reading this.

Here's why I asked for it.

Continuing to antagonise and belittle posters on threads. He was spoken to by all 3 mods but he wouldn't relent. In fact he went worse.
I ignored him but he wouldn't let up and followed me from thread to thread continually looking for arguements. You all know what I think of him and tried to let Mabon and Ash deal with him but in the end it was impossible.
Eventually I gave him a final warning but it had no effect.

If anyone still has some sympathy for him then see what you think about this which turned out to be the final nail in his coffin.

I was contacted by one of the mods on the Newcastle board. He had gone on there and posted a thread. It was about somewhere in Thailand and advising people to go there on holiday. The only problem was that it and the video he posted was all about the sex trade and all the local ladyboys. Needless to say the Geordies took great exception to this, and it was zapped. Only yesterday the Newcastle mod was questioning why he hadn't been banned. The supermod has been on holiday until today which is why it's taken so long.

So there it is , right or wrong Casual fan is banned. I'm not one to hide and if anyone disagrees feel free to say so as I won't take offence and more than willing to answer any questions. If anyone agrees then I appreciate your support in advance.

At best he was one of ours with an attitude problem, at worst a Cardiff wum, only he will ever know.

Hmm bit of an awkward one this. He did seem to always create/look for arguments and did generally insult people. But then what differs him from the likes of dai, Aussie, Norway, and dragon to name but a few? No offence guys but you all constantly insult eachother and other times others and let your emotions get the better of you when debates get heated. Don't get me wrong I think your all great posters and the board would be worse off without your inputs, But banning someone for being erratic can lead to other complications like people requesting to ban dai when he calls them stupid for their opinion (and let's be honest, you do it often <laugh> ).
What he put on the Newcastle board I haven't seen but that in itself should warrant some action. Can't say I agree with a ban though, no matter how infuriated it often makes me reading what I believe to be outrageous remarks. Nothing against you personally though Dili, just what I think <ok>.

Had a bit of a barney with him over speculation that Rodgers was leaving - took too much joy in it for him to be a Swans fan - but other times he made some decent posts.

Still, he was always one you knew would be there to stir things up and derail sensible comments.

It was always tiring that you couldn't have a discussion without insults flying.

Out of order imo if the reason is just his general posts. He actually spoke a lot of sense even if he was a bit blunt on times. Antagonising others isn't reason for banning anyone and was far less abusive to other posters than some who are still here. I can't comment on the sex trade thing because I haven't seen it but it doesn't mean a whole lot because he can just re-register. Not as if it was anything to do with kiddie porn.

People have been gunning for him for a while - not good. That's my take.

Very unfair that Breezy. Dilligaf had his doubts for some time, and Dill put these doubts to one side and gave him the benefit of the doubt. While he did post some good comments, he was very quick to torment and argue with other Swans fans. To post up a thread with regards to the sex trade in Thailand on a rival board is out of order, and I would agree that a ban was in order.

Swans m, no offence taken mate

Breezy, no agenda. I left him well alone for weeks on end but he followed me looking for arguements.

I saw the video on the Newcastle board, there they were with dresses that hardly covered their bums. Boys that is !!

The problem here is that the only posters left will be the ones that agree with each other - how boring will that be ?

This is a football forum not a prayer meeting. The ignore button is there for a reason. Bring back Casual Fan and SheffordQPR - and Johnny Hughes!

If JH could wum in moderation it would be fine. But he derails absolutely every thread which imo warrants a ban. Casual however I didn't really mind. Annoying to read at times but that's only because my opinion was the opposite to what he was saying. Didn't dislike him though.

John Hughs ?? You're a braver man than me PGF. We won't have everyone agreeing either, what about Dai for starters.

What you're forgetting is that Casual had numerous warnings over his behaviour. He got worse not better and there was no sign of it stopping. Please remember that a Newcastle mod wanted him gone too and the supermod agreed and he's a Gillingham fan !

Never been one for banning people on the net but if people get warned by the mods then they should use common sense and real it in a bit..

Other forums i attend have a policy of three strikes and your out e.g. 1st ban for 24 hrs,2nd ban a week and third ban, well bye bye..

Have to say though these other sports forum i go too arn't exactly run with a rod of iron they are extremly liberal <laugh>

No intention of that whatsoever ITIWRAN. I thought I showed you that earlier on today on another thread. No problem at all with your posts and it didn't cross my mind for a minute to zap them.

Casual just didn't seem to realise that he offended people and that some (not all) of his posts were belittling. I couldn't believe it when I saw what he put on the Newcastle board. Imagine a thread with a video included about ladyboys being put on the Cardiff board !! Now what would some of the usual suspects say ? Imagine Aber or JH, I reckon they'd have slaughtered him. You've got to draw the line somewhere and I reckon ladyboys and the sex trade crosses it.

Dilli kudos mate. You made the hard decision which takes balls. For anyone who winges about it ,imo and only imo, Dilli let things slide on the personal front, as I see it for the sake of our board however, if you start going on other teams board and causing offence, not banter, offence and a complaint gets made then you get what you deserve.
