All of this is speculation and conjuncture but ...
You have to wonder about the story of Cisse.

1, As Llambias is quoted as saying, people just "don't know how ****ing horrible" they (him and Ashley) are.
2, The said deadly due are involved in the casino game whether on a professional or leisure capacity.
3, Cisse, up to a week ago, had point-blank refused to wear a Wonga shirt.

Low and behold, a picture of Cisse is published while he sits in a casino; undermining his professed faith. Days, if not hours, later the said shirt dispute is over...

I do hope it was due to negations and not bullying. An unhappy, undermined striker is not want we need.

I seem to remember the picture popping up on here not so long ago, before the whole saga obviously, so I can't see it being bullying tactics. Someone probably just remembered seeing the pic and passed it on to a jurno. Now weather it was MA or a club inside we will never know but the whole thing made Cisse out to be a bit of a tit, so his confidence will be shot either way.

Tbh rather forget about it and get on with getting another striker in before this weekends over.

I think it just confirmed what most suspected, that it seemed more to do with opening the door to a move.

That's ok, but let's call a spade a spade and stop associating this football club with some of the most ridiculous stories you could dream up.

I've no doubt he feels he's been poorly treated, but you know this club spunked £9m just to be able to pay him a monthly salary to make most blush.
It's the kind of poor treatment I'd compromise my increasingly eroded beliefs for at the drop of a hat.

We'd be better off saying fair enough, no hard feelings and publicly announce that he's available for sale.
I wouldn't permit him a move to another Prem rival though, but if the Russians seem so keen then offers between £12-15m will do for me.

That said it rather keep a sulky fed up striker than pocket the cash for it not to be reinvested!

It is of course possible that with all the negative publicity and realising he wasn't going to win a battle of wills with the club that he 'found some sense'. Who cares.

Time to draw a line under the whole saga, and get behind him starting at Blackpool.

Cisse tried to play hardball, using his professed devoutness as a lever.

The club also played hardball using Cisse's hypocrisy as a lever.

As with playing hardball with Colo (telling that if he wants to leave he will have to find the £6 million to buy out his contract) I wholly support the club on this one.

I couldn't give a damn if it was bullying. Whatever it takes to get an employee back to work and doing what he should be is fine by me.

Rumour I heard is that Ashley paid off a casino debt of Cisse's in return for his loyalty.

This definitely doesn't mean Cisse is staying at Newastle by the way, it just gives Newcastle more leverage in deciding the fee. Otherwise you had another Darren Bent situation on your hands, a player with absolutely no value in his current state yet you're not going to let him go for peanuts. Shrewd move by your owner if this is true. If he does stay though, a few goals and everything will be forgotten about, that's the nature of the football fan really isn't it?

I've got nothing against the lad bar his not rocking up for work. Its nothing new in modern football is it? All is already forrgotten for the fans and board I'd imagine. Everyone just wanted him to focus on what he should be, scoring goals. As for casino debts, while I wouldn't be surprised, it just seems a bit far fetched. I think that's just Mikes links to casinos, Cisse's footage, 2+2=5 for me. The rumours which get circulated about every event at this club are hugely entertaining but rarely accurate.

As for Cisse's value, we'd have no trouble getting our 9m back off Anzhi or Rubin if other rumours are to be believed. Crazy russians.

I'd be surprised if there was much in the way of a sweetener given.

Ashley isn't sentimental. He would have been entirely within his rights to say: "If you refuse to play wearing the strip, you will be in breach of contract. The damages caused by that breach will be the cost of buying a striker who will play wearing the shirt. We intend to deduct that cost from your wages."

Somewhat similar to telling Colo that the cost of homesickness would be £6 million.

Cisse has been found out and why shouldn't the club play hardball he's employed by them.
The photo of Cisse has been doing the rounds for months, what I find strange is no one at the club seemed to know about it.

I think the club have been fair. They've handled it sensitively, without use of the media. They have allowed the issue to be resolved as privately as possible. They have sought advice from the correct places on a senstive subject (even bringing in an Imam from the local community to assist alledgedly). Obviously Cisses no show drew media attention but the club can't be blamed for that. The club simply expect him to honour his contract of employment. If rumours are to be believed, they have made it clear throughout they wish him to remain at Newcastle, and he has expressed a wish to remain at Newcastle throughout.

The journalist who ran this story about Cisse in the casino got in touch with Cisse and his representatives to give their side of the story, they declined.
I cant believe Cisse could be so naïve to think it wouldn't get out and I'm disappointed in his attitude towards the club and fans.
Let's hope he get's his head down and does well in the coming season.
