It seems Carzola is much better in the middle than on the left whilst Özil seems to be the same. Yesterday's I think Carzola did a great job defensively (he is not afraid of tackling unlike Özil who is constantly avoiding any challenges).

    Where would you play them?

Ozil in the middle without doubt and Cazorla as backup.

Hard to leave out Carzola after his game at Everton and yesterday.....working hard and creating stuff.

It appears even harder to spell his name correctly

Hmm.. On this issue I must say I agree with Wenger.

If we are to stand any chance of winning the league we need our best players on form.

Wilshere for example needed games. Many fans on here have been calling for Wenger to drop him but as we saw last night he is starting to look better the more game time he is getting.

Same goes for Ozil. For him to find his best form and take us forward a level he needs game time.

It's too early to say for sure but I fear we may be like Chelsea waiting for Torres to suddenly hit form with Ozil

I don't think Ozil is going to flop.

Torres lost that explosive pace he used to have. Ozil is not yet physically even at his peak yet.

Ozil is the real deal, he would be the second name on the list after Kos in my opinion. I would play Ozil in the centre and not on the wings, his talents are frankly wasted on the wings. He is a conductor, he needs the centre of the field to move his subjects and play his music. Ramsey and Arteta/Flamini complete the central positions. Cazorla and Wilshere should be fighting out for Ozil's spot and or one of the wing spots. Campbell has yet to be given a chance.

For me the following players pick themselves:

    Mert
    Kos
    Ozil
    Ramsey
    Arteta
    Sanchez
    Walcott

The rest are up for grabs from our squad players.

I was in two minds with Gibbs. He hasn't had a long enough run to determine whether he would be our number 1 LB over Monreal.

The only reason Ozil is getting into the team is because of his name and price. It sure as hell isn't anything to do with his performances.

He may not be at top form yet but he is one of the best players in the world when it comes to vision and supplying that killer ball. Once the team gets going and we have the likes of Walcott back, who would be better than having Ozil making those defence splitting passes to a running Sanchez or Walcott. Also he is our star man, and unless his form drops horribly, can you bench him.

Flipping heck why do fans insist on getting on Özil's back?! He's only in his second season, had injuries and been played out of position. Despite this he still is providing goals and assists but yeah, constantly whinging is what will help him hit top form...

For me I'd go with Lazarus' thoughts. He's an incredible no 10 so use him as such. Once we have a settled starting 11 they'll all start to know each others games better and performances will improve.

Exactly, it's Ozil's first season and he needed time to bed in, especially in such a tough league like ours. We have yet to see the best of Ozil and with our new signing Sanchez and a soon to return Walcott, i can only see a more potent attack.

I did think Ozil looked good on the wing yesterday though... fully of running, linking up, cutting inside - all good stuff.

Ozil's problem isn't the need for game time. He is simply a lazy bugger who looks for an area of the pitch that offers him maximum space, then just stands there waiting for a ball to be passed to him. He is not a team player and has the work ethic of scouser!

Everton game he was the only midfielder tracking back for Naismith's goal, he was hauling ass against Besiktas yesterday, in the World Cup he covered the most ground out of all the players who played the same amount of minutes as he did, he covered more ground than any other Prem midfielder in the CL last season according to UEFA's website, and of course the game against Bayern where people said he covered no ground
