It's obviously nonsense (we all hope), but it's worth repeating just for the laughs and BRS spontaneous combustion.

According to the Daily Star, Carver is intent on bringing back ex-NUFC goal machine Shola Ameobi. This news article is a masterpiece of beautiful and elegant journalism, the reading of which should be enjoyed by all. Especially BRS.

Christ all mighty. This is like having a dream about being on the Titanic, waking up and finding out you are actually on it, setting sail for New York.

More likely that board would sign me than a 30 something year old wannabe footballer.

Shola, go and help out Hartlepool as they seriously need your goalscoring prowess.

Can only assume that this is a rumour being put about so that when we sign Ched Evans instead fans will be more relieved than offended.

    <laugh><laugh>

    It's funny cause it's true.

I still wonder what happens if the review finds there was insufficient evidence for conviction, or plainly squash the case... What happens about all these people keeping him from playing football, or these feminist groups and celebrities being up in arms about him playing again? Do they apologise? Can Ched sue them for loss of earnings? Do they just get forgotten about because "once a convicted rapist, always a convicted rapist"? I mean, I have absolutely no reference point beyond speculation, but for someone to go to jail for something like that and still come out protesting innocence, he either has a screw loose, he's playing the game very badly in order to get a football contract, or he's actually innocent.

It seems weird people can go to jail for making a few jokes about others online, but newspapers, media, and basically anyone with an opinion is brazenly slagging him off, potentially slanderously, and there would be no reprisal. Mob justice?
