looking at Geordies board it would seem that Carver has been relegated to assistant with Steve Stone taking over as their number 1!
Carver is obviously a nice guy, and probably a good coach, but seeing him talk he just is not managerial material, he couldn't motivate anyone, and just wants to be Mr Nice Guy. A change might just work as it can't get any worse.
What he tries to do and sound assertive just doesn't come across as being that way IMHO. It's not what he try's to show with supporters, it's how he comes across to the players, and obviously they are just not playing him.
Maybe they don't understand his accent, are most of the team French? remember Pardew had a real thing about French players a year or two ago.
Who was the last manager the Toon players actually did play for? This is great news btw, Sunderland could send Newcastle down, or better they could both go down. Sunderland fans would still bang on about the 5 in a row if they did. It's just pure comedy.
Newcastle seem to be constantly on a massive losing run or massive winning run, they've been lurching from one to the other for at least 18 months now.
Hopefully they've gone but Cisse is now back for them and will make a difference unless they've all completely downed tools. It'd be worth bringing in a Hiddinck or someone of that ilk for these last few games,
I did enjoy the graceless splat of the boy Vardy as he was launched, face first, into the camera stand. Best thing Newcastle have done in ages.
Carver hasn't done one, Newcastle have confirmed he will be in charge for the last four games. Probably because nobody would be mental enough to take over for the last four games.
Even Carver should get summat from these games but if i was Ashley I'd parachute someone good in. Newcastle v West Brom QPR v Newcastle Newcastle v West Ham
