Rumours are we are gonna have about £20m to spend in the summer, plus what ever we can raise in transfers out, on the likes of Assaidi,Coates, perhaps Skrtel,Downing, and AC.

IMO Big Andy could be quite hard to shift, I think Newcastle will want him, but I expect they will drive a v hard bargain, can see them offering somethin like £7m, the only reason we are interested in Ben Arfa IMO is to loook at a deal involving Carroll, I expect we may have even spoke to HBAs contacts already,to try and instigate player power. We could really do with other clubs coming in.Im hoping Stoke may be interested , Crouchies not gettin any younger.Who else could be interested, dont see any interest from West Ham.Perhaps QPR,if they stay up,perhaps Villa if Benteke goes, maybe even someone like West Brom

IMO, hes gonna be difficult to shift, proves what a f**k up DC/KD made signing him.

hard to shift.... i'd say impossible. I did hope that west ham would cough up but when i saw thier figures i am sure they cannot afford it. PHOOK newkie and carroll. if he plays games what the hell he should not go for a miserly sum. i simply think you want old school managers like allardyce r pulis wanting him but 17-20mil is ismply not on. he's not shown a scrap of form EVER since his injury so why we paid that much for an injured player.... stupid asses idiocy and it rightly got guys the sack imo.

I think he'll only be hard to sell because Rodgers made such a cock up last time around by telling the world we don't want him now, nor will we ever want him in the team. Clubs know they can get him for a bargain because we have no leg to stand on now. Alot of teams will be interested, he's still a good player and can be dangerous. This season was just bad for injuries.

West Ham, Villa, Stoke, QPR, Newcastle...to be honest, any team outside the top 6 I think would consider him at the right price, although I think even a team like United would get alot from him under SAF!

Rodgers ****ed up badly here. We'll do well to get 10mill.

I can see him spending another season out on loan somewhere, in the hope that he stays injury free & starts to look like a player again & thus his value will increase. As at present his value is peanuts, given his recent fitness record & goal scoring form, combined with his £80K per week salary.

maybe, but contract running down v him getting 15 goals or some such..... I can't see him doing anythign to be worth more than 10-15mil no matter what so if soemone plops that o nthe table we have to take it.

not to mention the 90k per week or whatever flowing out.

I think we sell and accept the loss fast

His contract is until the summer of 2016 mate, so you've got time on your side in terms of hoping he'll improve. Whoever signs him on loan will pay his full salary, as has happened with WHU. I don't think the Yanks will write off the thick end of £30M by blowing him out this summer. As I think his current value is less than £10M

I dont think it is a case of improving. Carroll is a very good player already. But he doesnt fit our style of play. His fitness is also poor so he gets injured a lot.

Carroll's current form & fitness mean he's currently worth next to nothing mate, that was my point.

    i don't agree.

    1. 2016 and its now 2013, you're talking a loan til 2014 summerb = two years left.... power all goes to pot fairly quickly then.

    2. carroll is not a "very good player" he WAS a very good prospect before his first injury but his mobility is crap and he misses the target too much... he is of value if the likes of k.jones or bent etc can command a fee....

    3. everyone knows we don't want him... no power in a sale.

    4. 90k x 52 = 4.68million... sell now i say, sell ASAP 15mil is enough if we can scrape it. next year we'd be looking at 20mil to recoup the wages! its a no brainer, same as aquilani didaster or cole disaster... get them gone asap as the value of cash in hand today is worth more than cash in hand in a years time too.

just my opinion but i'm not getting convinced by anything aid nor carroll's form to change this opinion.

Ashley is a bastard of a bloke to deal with.
He'll offer no more than £10m for AC and if you want HBA he's already said bidding for ANY player starts at £25m.
He is one stubborn bloke so be warned.

If only he could show a bit of form and force his way into the national squad as that adds £5m to any fee. I feel for him as I think there's a player in him, but he needs the service

I'd rather take him back than receiving 7m from the fat gump.

isn't that irrelevant anyway, as no player agreement has been reached, so they wont offer wages of what he is currently on, so he will reject it.

  17. Surely that would have been done at the same time? Fair shout though <ok>

I hate this "he doesn't fit our style of play" crap!

Do we have players who can whip crosses in? Yes. Do we have many players who tower above defenders and can head a ball? No.

I would like to think if we had him back the sport science team that we have could keep him fit. They are reporting around 90% availability and have managed Gerrard well(Played all PL games/minutes this season) given his injury record.

We still require an alternative playing style vs some teams and to be fair Carroll could offer that still if we dont sell him this summer.
