Newcastle make a bid to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll on loan, with a view to a permanent move. You couldn't write it!

I'm sure he'll do very well back at Newcastle.

That bench will be warm, with Cisse/Ba up front I can't see Carroll displacing them

Carroll is a great player in my opinion but his qualities don´t fit into want Rodgers wants in his team. He suits Newcastle´s style much better and I´m sure if even goes back to them on loan he will be the great player he was when he was first there.

*The pretty good but nowhere near £35m valued player.

It seems to have become popular to think Carroll is amazing. Nobody thought he was amazing before he joined Liverpool for a ridiculous price, hence the initial reaction to the price. It's only since he was pretty good (still not amazing) in the last few games of last season that everyone has started creaming over him.

I don't think they'll both be there come 1st September.

Cisse and Ba are both quality strikers but they don´t make a good partnership. Ba scored many goals in the first half of the season but when Cisse arrived he didn't score practically any. I think Ba and Cisse are too similar and a Carroll-Cisse partnership would be much better.

Well that's not true, when cisse joined ba took a far more secondary role playing off the striker, with cisse taking the role that ba originally held. The partnership did pretty well

Carroll is very good at what he does, but for £35 mil you need a more rounded player than what Carroll is. His style of play is also pretty outdated for a top team as all the target men type players at the bigger clubs have much more to their game than just being good target men (Drogba, Zlatan and Berbatov all can play the target man role but have a lot of other qualities aswell).

Carroll will score goals if the team is built around him, to do this though you can't play the style of football which seems popular atm, so I can't see why a team regularly challenging for Champs League would want him and Liverpool will get nowhere near the £35 mil they paid for him. They have rejected Newcastles loan bid anyway

Ba and Cisse are both pure strikers and they don´t complement each other. Carroll´s best position is playing off the striker and his hold up play and knock downs would create many more chances for Cisse than Ba would.

Newcastle have apparently upped their offer. Looks like B might be leaving?
