Maybe I just feel different to most others. Yes its easy to feel hurt, yes its easy to call him a Judas, but at the end of the day there is no doubt that he is a Newcastle supporter.
There will always be unanswered questions and we will never know the full extent of what happened on 31st January 2011. Surely there would have had to have been some agreement between Carroll and Cashley on that day that the money would definitely be re invested into the squad. Carroll couldnt have been forced to leave, but he must have heard something that triggered him to think, maybe me leaving isnt so bad. We have a thin squad and he knows that he is not worth £35mill. anyone knows that.

So if he was told that selling him could not only buy us a decent replacement, but also bolster our squad with maybe 4 or 5 players with that money.

I dunno, i just dont feel he deserves the abuse and hate he gets. Surely if this summer works out well and we get some of the players we are after then maybe we can put it all to bed??

As the great Bill Hicks would say, "I dunno, im just plantin seeds, maybe one day" in the good old marketing routine

No chance, sorry to shoot your article down but he claimed he was forced out.

He went for the money. Ashley went for the money.

Can't think of many who would be! :D I remember on transfer deadline night though, the skysports stream I had on ended and it changed to liverpool tv. Had a single camera man from liverpool fc walking around the place with him and Dalglish, and the lad looked over the moon. Huge giddy smiles and eyes aglow. For somebody who a few hours ago was apparently forcibly removed from the only club he loves, he looked pretty damned good about it.

His agent played no part in the deal, Liverpool hired an agent to act on behalf of Carroll for the transfer.

Carrolls eyes so the £££ signs and said he'd stay for a new contract. Ashley already made his mind up that he wanted the coin.

Wouldn't it be nice if all clubs refused to talk to agents. Then if the player wanted to play for the club he could use his own common sense to negotiate terms. It's not as if they're uneducated and don't know what they want for themselves. It would just save a hell of a lot of cash going into the agents pockets!

He went for the money, greedy **** (admittedly agent will have played a part). He was within his right to reject any offer.

Also if Ashley made the calls about it, we would have accepted the 20mil offer from Spurs we got a week before that one.

I think quite a lot are. Carroll definitely is thick as mince. I think them having agents is probably a good idea as it protects them legally, not all footballers get a **** load of money a **** clubs over. Clubs can also **** players over.

I see your point though there are too many corrupt agents who charge fortunes and don't have the players best interests at heart.

They could all negotiate a decent deal though, or hire an agent to help them out for one off transfers/contracts.

Then again, imagine the negotiations over Nile Ranger's 5 year deal <yikes>

but as i said, if it works out well is it not best left alone? not the type of person to waste hate, i like to stock it up and push it at someone who fully deserves it. and with £35 mill in our pockets, i cant see how he deserves it!

Not a chance...I reckon Liverpool offered £35m, Ashley wanted it and gave them permission to talk to Carroll. Someone spoke to him and said:

"Look Andy, you've acheived everything you can there, you've scored goals, you've scored a hatrick, you've finished top scorer, you've been given the No.9. You'll never win a trophy with them and you'll never be paid anywhere near as handsomely with them...Come to Liverpool, you'll win trophies, play European football and be paid 90k a week...The majority of footballers don't play for their childhood team, you won't be breaking any rules!"
