    35 million is an insane amount of money for a young lad who is relatively unproven at this level and i suppose in business terms it makes good sense. but again what annoys the hell out of me is another local lad who had the world at his feet, ten years at least at the top in front of him, one week kissing the badge of his beloved boyhood club and the next week flipping the bird to the club and the fans he claimed to love and pissing off down to the arsehole of the north (sunderland aside)!!!!! just the final bit of proof that loyalty means **** all when you've got a massive bank balance to keep you happy. I hope your happy andrew carroll, and that when liverpool don't make the champions league and you miss the club that made you what you are that you wake up one morning to find that some lovely bin-dipping local has torched your motor, burgled your house and stole your dog. TTBWA, and god bless players like shola who buck the trend and give us hope that this game we love hasn't totally gone to the dog's

    Loyal players are a dying breed, Harper looks to be one of the very last of them still playing. Football has taken a very ugly turn and I dont much care for what it's going to turn into.

    I don't understand these players forcing mid-season transfers anyway? He won't play in europe there this season (or maybe even next at the going rate), he's only got a few months of these season's salary left to bank, and with the continuing increase in transfer fees, he (and us) could've made even more if he held out and proved himself longer in the league. Not to mention everything he's losing by leaving his hometown, and the unbridled fury he's unleashed by doing it now under these circumstances.

    Then again, nobody ever said any of these twats had brains to match their feet.

    Time for nile to step up as i don't think ireland, However usefull is the 20 a season man we now need, shola will always be around to stick one up the unwashed and get slagged off by most of us for being useless. the man is a Geordie legend, however crap he can be at times
