As we all understand, he was included in the game with Norwich because of a lack of leadership and voice. I think that is wrong to criticise Gerrard with that, as I believe it may be a lack of organisation in defense which Brendan isn't happy with.
Also, a lot of times this season a certain Skrtel has had a big problem of getting too close to defenders playing with their back to goal and thus giving away endless free kicks in dangerous positions.
Maybe it will do Martin some good to be on the bench for a bit, but I am concerned by the lack of pace with Jamie, especially against Walcott in a couple weeks, where I doubt any player of theirs will be trying to hold it up.

Maybe some extended game time will convince Carragher to stay on a bit longer before retiring.

He has always been a good organiser but he is just not mobile enough anymore, playing against Norwich is one thing but with City and Arsenal coming up and I don't think he's good enough for those games.

I think he should consider retiring and working towards his coaching badges.

I'd be very surprised if he'll play in either of the games against Arsenal and City..
Can see him getting a game against Oldham, and if Coates isn't out on loan by then, I think he'll start too..
Be good to give both Skrtel and Agger the weekend off!

    1. skertl is as quiet as a mouse. thats a fact.

    2. if rodgers saw it that he just needed some mroe organisation at the back thats his choice.

    3. carrgher is not tall enough nor dominant enough to go win the ball and the let others sweep up behind him thus negating the pace issue. this is why he's not i nthe team IMO.

    4. I agree, play carra v arsenal and you invite disaster.

    5. he should be coaching asap.

anyway enough carragher bullet points. I think skertl and agger both need some real competition cos frankly agger form set peices and i nthe box is not tight enough at all.. he's been responsible for some bad goals and skertl is IMO not that organiser but has been doing well.. sure he gets too tight but i'd rather he kick seven shades out of lads than not... a few frees.. well we ought to defend those. what killed us v utd were not frees it was guys playing i nthe hole and being abel to pass it about.

Carragher is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Yeah he's not that quick anymore, but he more then makes up for that with experience, knowing where to be and where to anticipate the ball. He's still a good player, though with that said I still prefer Skrtel.
