Scholes is always overrated..

a mid fielder after all those years cant tackle for lick, seen strikers and goal keepers tackle better than him

 

True enough, but he can't half pass and set up his forwards !!!

 

Frank's playing stats have always been better but then everybody knew this anyway.

 

Is he a big game player like Frank? Conveniently got booked to avoid some finals

 

I'll go against the grain and disagree with Carragher.

I love Frank but peak Scholes was better than any English midfielder I've seen. That said, over the course of their entire careers Lampard has been better. Frank has hit 30 and gone from strength to strength whilst I feel Scholes's influence at United began to decline at that point.

If all three of Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard were at their very best I'd go with Scholes > Lampard > Gerrard.

I always said that if England managers had the balls to play Scholes a bit deeper and push Lampard further up rather than playing Lampard and Gerrard side by side in a rigid 4-4-2 they'd have reaped the rewards.

Out of the two, Giggs is always the one I've felt to be overrated. He lived off that goal in 99 and has never really been the same player since that injury which caused him to lose that extra yard of pace and when played in the middle gets found out defensively and leaves United even more vulnerable.

 

Scholes overrated. Just cos xavi or whoever said he was good. Who cares? In his next interview xavi probably said gerrard was a greater player.

Scholes bottled big games such as Brazil 2002.

He did but he was probably the sole reason they got to Moscow in 2008. Man U players had a habit of bottling big games for England though, main reason they got booed. 1998, 2000, 2002 etc.

 

Hey fantastic knowledge of football and a great judge of a player you are! ... In my view any chelsea player is better than Scholes...in fact I would say that every player in your current midfield is 100 times better than Scholes...

I have always loved watching Scholes and Gerrard but Lampard has been the best central/attacking midfielder in the Premier League over the past 10 years in my opinion. Both better technically than Lamps admittedly however.

 

Forget the bravado read the stats, they don't lie!

Lampard: Played more games scored more goals and made more assists for club and country.

Only one was ever voted 2nd best player in the world...guess what, it wasn't Scholes.

 

Scholes more gifted technically. Lampard better temperament for the big occasion

 

Gerrard hasn't been up to much since the 08/09 season really. Was an awesome player back in the day.

 

Agree with that but not as prolific by a long chalk.
