Good insight into why Carra is leaving Liverpool. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ll-eats-up-managers-and-I-dont-need-that.html
I love Carra. He is one on his own, knows what he wants and is very much his own man. I just hope he misses the day-to-day stuff
i just hope we don't get one of those situations where he gets taken off air as people complain about his accent ie a bit like Cheryl Cole. be good to see him and Gary teamed up as their knowledge of the game will be good to see.
Carra would be great on the BBC. I wonder what it will be like for Gerrard after Carragher has gone. When you look at pictures of train, coach trips etc, and the players leaving pitch, Gerrard and Carragher are always together.
i reckon he's going and doing what he's doing so i hope when he decides that if he does miss the day to day he does the right things and go coaching first. there are too many" big names" and many lfc exmaples of guys jumping into management without the background. barnes, whelan, lawro (ha ha) Staunton. Let alone the likes of pearce, hughes and some others like say ince who might ge tone good year but then show their naivity. There is something to be said for the apprenticeship that rodgers served. He might just stick to punditry. I have to wonder about it cos to me on the outside sitting round wearing suits at a game in a box then bull crapping all over it at half time is not really staying in the game. NOt man of the modern footballers run their own businesses like say quinn or rob jones etc. You'd think with the capital they have now this would be more common. Anyway................ if it were a case of take a year out thats fine but if he really doesn't fancy it then he's better off out of it.
" But the fella who walked in was not the same fella who walked out " I can understand seeing that might put you off, some managers suddenly go grey over a season!!
Fair play to him - at least he leaves LFC by playing a big part in defence, rather than being stuck on the sub bench. Good time for him to leave
its up to him. if he doesn't fancy it then i think perhaps saying it now and putting any shearer-esque expectations to bed early is a good thing. better to be slightly disappointed he's choosing to do this than massively if he took the big job and failed badly.
i expect Cara at some point to go into management, same as Gary. both are probably broadening their knowledge of the game first from a dif point of view, and probably waiting until the expectation of both being good managers has gone down a bit, next utd and Liverpool managers? although that will come with a lot of expectation. they should team up and sort the England u21 out lol
Liverpool are going to have a problem similar to us. Carra and Gerrard for you Giggs and Scholes for us. It`s not really just about replacing them as players it`s more than that. These are long time one club players which unless say, wage capping or the banning of agents will become more and more of a rarity. Both our clubs have players who were still kids when these players were making news as first team players (in giggs case some of these players wern`t even born). When younger players arrive at a big club it must be a bit daunting but older players who have been there and done it can help them relax.
Good news, he has been dragging the club down for years now. It will be a huge bonus for us to no longer have him plaguing the club with his presence next season. The likes of Kelly, Wisdom & Coates will improve so much without Carragher encouraging them to hoof it and screaming at them to "get stuck in there lads."
