The Roar of the QPR Fans :emoticon-0136-giggl :emoticon-0140-rofl: :emoticon-0140-rofl:

We get this all the time from away fans, how great their singing was in the Putney End, and they couldn't hear us. Well guess what ? ... we rarely heard you at the Hammersmith End, glad you enjoyed your little sing song, we enjoyed the score and our little sing song.

Guess you didn't hear 'Are you Brentford in disguise' ? Sure played like them.

I must admit I was a bit surprised by some of these comments. I am a QPR fan that was in the Johnny Haynes stand and I was surprised by the amount of singing and the noise generated by the Fulham fans. I could hear the QPR fans but not that well. It is obvious from comments that the Rangers fans sang throughout but it must be something to do with the acoustics at the ground as neither set of fans seemed to have heard the other.

Great blog thisismyengland. The acoustics are terrible at the Cottage. We do sing and in tune (we had lessons from MJ!). I thought it was excellent that as a majority both sets of fans got along well. Very refreshing.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Big Mart is giving singing lessons now? Ace manager, ace vocalist - is there no end to the man's talent?

Good blog mate and very gracious in defeat. Just so you know we do sing quite a bit in the hammersmith end, just as the away fans sing in the putney end. However the neutral and riverside ends are very quiet which is partly why away fans rarely hear us. Annoys me a bit but nothing we can do about it. Besides, if people would rather just watch football and not sing they have payed a lot of money to be there so thats completely up to them. Vocal support is good but not for everyone. Also as others have mentioned the acoustics of the cottage do probably lead to it sounding quieter than some of the more modern stadia across the league.

Well, there's no point crying about it, is there? I always knew this season would be a tough one, even with a few new signings. The Bolton game aside, and a lack of goals notwithstanding, it seemed to be going too well to be true. So something like this was always bound to happen - just a matter of when and where. Sure, I'll take it on trust that a Fulham roar could be heard elsewhere in the ground. I just say it as I see (hear) it. While I sometimes write for (mild) comic effect, there is never any attempt at outright distortion of the truth. A funny old day out all in all and by no means the one of the worst in my 35-ish years of following the Rangers.

Good blog, thisismy, both in tone and content. Like you, I was pleased to see everyone mixing in a friendly manner post game although, to be honest, I've never experienced anything different in the Crabtree etc.

I wish there was something we could do about the acoustics at the Cottage - sometimes the noise in the Hammy end is deafening when you're in the middle of it (this applies more to games like Man City than QPR) so its annoying that no one is getting the benefit of it except us!
