A average striker at BEST!

Couldn't make the grade at Chelsea.
He isn't a prolific striker by no means..
West Ham record : 153 apps 39 goals
His best season was back in 08-09, scoring 12 goals in 32 apps(decent enough but hardly prolific)... and in this current season he's only managed 4 goals in 25 apps(Premier League... very average indeed) but he's been prolific in the Carling and FA Cup, scoring 2 in 1 and 4 in 6 respectively.

10m for such a average striker...who's no better than what we have?
Pardew better not even consider this guy...I guess Cole will finally find his playing level and start banging' in the goals for West Ham in the CHAMPIONSHIP!

If I was in the team and I was the current best striker, we'd still be doomed.

The message is, we need somebody special as our #1 striker.

I'm just saying some people here don't seem to appreciate what Best has managed to do in a space of one year!

Back in 2010 Jan, everybody thought he was a ''panic'' buy and that he'll only block Ranger's development.
He couldn't score for toffee in the Championship with us and most thought he was a average CC standard striker and wouldn't cut in in the PL.
Roll away to 2011 Feb and who would've thought he would score 5 goals in 8 apps(yes.. I know the hat-trick was against a dreadful West Ham team, but he took them very well and to do that on his first start.. very impressive indeed), nice goal against Arsenal and a good header against Birmingham, sure he isn't going to set the world alight but give credit were credit is due, he does seem like he can cut the mustard.. weather he can do it on a regular and consistent basis remains to be seen.

 

Cole? Nah don't want him, especially at that price. For that money we should be getting someone decent not that perennial under performer.

Sanchino, I agree. Thought he (Best) was a waste of space coming into the season but i've been really impressed with what he has done over the last eight games and think we should get behind him and give him a go. Not convinced that he will deliver conistently but he definintely deserves credit for his effort, especially considering he must have felt frozen out up until that point. Many players would have gone off and sulked and just taken the pay, but he has obviously worked hard, pestered the boss for a chance and then taken it. Fair play to the lad!
