I have to say I am somewhat tired of the constant calls for Jewell to get in a right back, for me Edwards for the most part does a good job for us there, he certainly makes no more errors than anyone else who plays in our back four, when he does his pace more often than not gets him out of trouble.

So I would ask this question, just what other right back options are there.?
Remember they need to slot into our wage structure, be available or available at a realistic price but above all want to come here.
I agree that Edwards is not ever going to win any awards for the best right back in the league, but hey, we are far from the best team in the league.

I would like to have seen how many other championship right backs would have got forward on Saturday & played that ball into Chops for his goal, not many I think.

    Thought.?

Keeping them sensible would make a nice change....!

He's definitely not the long term solution but with 2 decent CB's I think he could be a good asset for us.

His defensive positional sense is terrible, but since being converted to RB he's been much more effective going forwards than he ever was when he played RM.

But there are definitely better RB's out there.

I think it all depends on what you want from your fullbacks Hoppers. You have said not many other fullbacks would have got FORWARD and SETUP Chopras goal, which you are probably correct on but he cant DEFEND and that for me is one of the key attributes for a full back. I would rather our full backs had a 65/35 defend/ attack make up. For me Edwards is probably 30% defensive minded and 70 attack and that leads to him being caught out on numerous occasions. Some times his pace will get him back and possibly help but its not something I would want to rely on long term

So far this season we have conceded 57 league goals, out of that 2 possibly 3 are due directly to Carlos being out of position or being done. For me that is not an anrealistic amount of mistakes to make, again have any of our other defenders or keepers even midfield players not done the same.?

As yet no names heve been thrown in as likely target, I just think we want someone that is not a sensible target for us as we are now.

To say Carlos can't defend is harsh to say the least, He was very good last week v Cardiff. He was coming in to give cover to our CBs but at the same time he & JET managed to get back out wide from sudden switches of play to snuff out any danger.

I have never been a fan of Carlos playing at RB, but as has been said already the cover our current midfield and forward players have been giving to our defence recently has made them all look a lot more comfortable with defencive duties, even Delaney and Smith who were being pillioried not so long ago. Carlos is fast which gets him out of trouble often and great going forward so in the absence of any other RBs, keep him.

Carlos can be a liability, yet as we all know he really does contribute a lot going forward. For someone who is not 'the long term answer' he is doing a pretty decent job. If we were to replace him now it would have to be with some one very decent as I think it would be harsh for Carlos to lose his place in the team. However I think he has to have a strong finish to the season if Jewell is not to replace him for next term.

Obviously a better player going forward, still makes too many mistakes in defensive situations, however his speed gets him out of many defensive problems, not being a natural defender I think that his interpretation of defending can be questioned, as he very regularly gets caught out of position, amazes me what a mixed up game he plays, one minute making lung busting attacking runs the next making a school boy error in defence, but the evidence of his ability could be seen creating Chopra's goal against Cardiff, not many in our team have the ability to do that.
