Just reading through the papers/sites and see Villa are keen to offload Cuellar amd he seems to be stalling on a move back to Rangers, I dont blame him as Scottish football can be barely classified as Football its boring and would put it on par with a boring low end league 1 match or League 2 game. I know he is 29 which is a little older than NA would like but he has 3 good seasons left in him, he is a big lump and could play in the Prem, ideal partner for Jose I think. My bet is he would have to come in as a top earner but wouldnt be far off our budget as Villa dont pay ridculous wages and Rangers certainly dont. Feelings???
Nope, far too good for us. Premier League standard for sure, only going to Rangers because they mean a lot to him.
Completly agree - seriously, why are people plucking random names out the hat and posting them on here today?
haha maybe im a little harsh and I know Sky have to be fair and show the Scottish league to but its mind numbingly boring! They kick lumps out of each other and what is seen as the better teams seem to be semi filled with old school premier league rejects! like said above he is premier league, that is what we are building for, we are a better team than Rangers (I have no doubt about that) and I dont see a queue of Prem teams chasing him which does surprise me a bit!
I have watched him a number of times when i have been to ibrox in the past. Before he went to villa my Rangers mate regularly sorted a boys weekend up there. He would be a great shout as he is a class act when playing in a confident team. Villa have been shocking for a while now with or without him. My mate is praying he returns to Rangers but i would have him at St Mary's.
its not a rumour, had it been I would have posted it under the rumour section, simply a talented player who seems a bit out in the dark with his current club that maybe someone like ourselves should be making enquires about. Plus it seems a slow day with not a lot going on anyway!
I heard the deal stalled after Rangers didn't make it through the champions league qualification. Whether that was because they could no longer afford to finance the deal or that he wanted champs league football, who knows. Either way, nice idea but highly unlikely!
I've recently changed from Freeview to Freesat, which means I can watch Sportscene [from Scotland], rather than something being televised in my usual area, if I want to. Curiosity got the better of me, so I watched a recent Hearts v Dunfermline game, mainly to see how Rudi Skacel was doing [actually, he's doing alright], but what staggered me was the mediocre quality of the football. Yeah, the Scots have reasonably good technical skills, but the tactical battle was pathetic. Intelligent running off the ball was largely absent, and the defences stood around too. Well, they didn't really need to move. I was appalled. On the evidence I saw, I think a League Two side would give either team a good game.
