Would you take the reported monies and run? I think I would once suitable add-ons were, erm, added on. I really would have liked to see him make it at the club but RB is a position we have covered strongly and I don't think it would help his career to bring him back. Decent player though and seems a nice lad but with Bellerin and Debuchy ahead of him with Chambers as cover I don't think he'd get a game.
I really don't want to loose him, as he's a good player, Arsenal through and through and will IMO be very good in the next few years for anyone else who buys him. But at the same time I can't see where he'd get game time, as even if we solely play Chambers as a CB (or CB/DM) then there's still Debuchy and Bellerin in front of him. Such a shame. As he did really well when he covered for Sagna before, and seems to be doing well for West Ham.
No, he's got so much potential and he actually loves Arsenal. But realistically speaking he will be sold. We have a senior in that role now and Bellerin is improving every game. Plus, Chambers is adequate cover too.
i wonder what happens if Alves leaves Barca and they come calling for their boy Bellerin... I am sure they are monitoring his progress closely.
For £10m yes, as long as we invest it in a DM. As mentioned we have Debuchy, Bellerin and Chambers who can all play RB
10 mill is not enough for Jenkinson he is a quality right back with premier league experience plus the fact he is English i think we should be holding out for atleast 20million. Personaly what i would do is bring him back next season loan out Bellerin and at the start of 16/17 season sell Debuchy and have Bellerin and Jenkinson fighting it out for the rb slot
Not being greedy at all we have them both under long term contracts we don't need to sell we are in a position where we are comfortable with money. But lets say the club do it your way and sell Jenkinson. How many years does Debuchy have left at the top ? i'd say a couple of seasons at most. so in a couple of years we are going to be searching for a back up right back
I'd just send him back out on loan or sell with a buy back clause so in a couple of years when we need another Rb we can get him back into the fold.
No but i think he is a quality right back who has years ahead of him unlike Debuchy i think if Wenger knew how quickly Jenkinson and Bellerin would progress this season he wouldn't have signed Debuchy
I would definitely keep Bellerin, and rather loan Jenkinson. If Jenkinson is really serious about his career he would push for the move to West Ham. I would anyway. But if we are able to keep him then I would rather loan him out. Bellerin seems a better fit to us right now. Debuchy has a fight on his hands as it stands.
No matter how serious you are about career Jenkinson like us is an Arsenal fan so if there is even a glimmer of hope of him being in the 1st team he will wait I know i would
I seriously doubt that mate. He's a professional footballer. He's not thinking as a fan (he shouldn't) at this stage. Especially when he is not a star player like a Stevie G was for Liverpool, or Le Tissier was for Southampton, where he can say this is my club I will bring them success. He is still making his way. He can only become better by playing regularly and that is not guaranteed and Arsenal right now for the lad.
Sooo the big question is, do we let Jenks score a hat trick against us so we can sell him for nearer £20m to boost our DM kitty?
