Yes, one is sure to be lined up before Saturday, there will be a delay so it doesnt look like we had someone lined up before we sacked him but I sure thats the case.
My guess (if there is a hold up) is that Steve Gallen will step up. He might be the only member of the back room staff that hasn't kept the seat warm so far, so he deserves a go!!
Gallen & Bircham had one match in the hot seat against West Brom if my memory is right, we nearly won it as well, 2-2 with a late goal against us down to Fitz Hall...
I can do it...off work this week with the flu....nothing else to do Me, me pick me (direct quote Donkey in Shrek)
There are one or two people on here who seem to know it all and have all the answers. I would just love it to see them have a go.
Why not give it to Steve Wicks? I think that he's still employed by the club in some sort of meeter and greeter role isn't he? He has some managerial experience, has played at the top level and would know his way around the place.. Just a thought really. It'll probably be Birch and/or Gallen, who would no doubt do a good job.
According to BBC Radio 5 live senior football reporter Ian Dennis the board hope to make an appointment quickly, and that therefore there will be no need for an interim caretaker manager. Here’s the direct quote; "The departures of assistant manager Mick Jones and first-team coach Keith Curle with Neil Warnock indicate that QPR are planning to announce a successor quickly," said Dennis. "They have cleared the decks - no need for a caretaker. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16465289.stm
Youth team manager in dark whether he will assume temporary role QPR youth team manager Marc Bircham does not know if he will be asked to take temporary charge at the club after the sacking of Neil Warnock. Mark Hughes is the bookies' favourite to replace Warnock and the club are eyeing a swift appointment ahead of the trip to face Newcastle on Sunday in the Premier League. When former boss Jim Magilton left the club in 2009, youth team manager Bircham stepped into the breach, taking charge for one game against West Brom in the Championship. No clue When asked if there was any sign this could happen again, Bircham told Sky Sports News: "I haven't got a clue. We've just been told to carry on as normal." "We're carrying on as normal. It was the reserves and youth team in today so that's all we're doing." The former player and lifelong QPR fan added he had been shocked by the departure of Warnock, who had led the club to the top flight. Speaking at the ground on Monday, he said: "We're carrying on as normal. It was the reserves and youth team in today so that's all we're doing. "(I'm) just really shocked, like most of you shocked at the sad news yesterday of the manager getting sacked. "It's never nice the manager of your club getting sacked but it's the business we're in." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7419802/
I'm sure that training will proceed as normal, with Gallen and Bircham taking the lead role and working on strength, fitness, speed and set pieces. I dount that Warnock really had that much input into these elements anyways.
its pretty obvious to anyone whos seen the team this season the we didnt work on attacking or defending set pieces all season!
