Surely the time has come to give Ashley time to sort us out as a club, and stop slagging him off every two minutes. If he wasn't here we would have probably gone to the wall by now!

There is talk of even Barcelona and Real Madrid being in trouble with the banks in Spain. Previously they have been in a position to borrow as much as they wanted without being asked to pay back the money in any given timescale. They were basically allowed to pay back whenever they wanted.

But, in the current climate of recession etc, and the possible collapse of Greece, and with it the Euro and European countries' economies, even the Spanish banks are eyeing up the money owed by Barca and RM (about £1bn) and saying "we need to get our hands on that, pronto".

On a lighter note, a good article in the Mail today about past Mag, Michael O'Neill, and how well Shamrock Rovers have done with him as their manager for the past couple of years.

Also this on flickr - NUFC photo day for winners of a comp. for NUFC.

Plus decent account of the day for a fan:

All the players seem to get on, which is nice.

Plus that lad shows Pardew in a new light, very Keegan-esque.

Plus interesting take on Situ, could we possibly still get him, or is it dead for everyone at the moment, would be nice to get him in with Santon's injury:

    Statement from Swansea, Thursday:

Swansea City is disappointed to announce that Fifa has initially turned down the club's bid to sign Darnel Situ and Rafik Halliche.

The club agreed a £250,000 transfer fee for Situ from French club Lens and a loan deal for Halliche from Fulham on transfer deadline day.

However, due to minor delays in processing the transfers, Fifa has informed the club that they will not grant international clearance for either defender. This is despite the full backing of The Premier League, The FAW, FA, French Federation and the PFA.

The club is currently waiting for official written confirmation from Fifa before considering entering into an appeals process.

Swansea City is disappointed with Fifa's decision and are currently pursuing other options to strengthen the squad. The club will not be making any further comment at this stage until full written clarification is received from Fifa.

(Situ spent time on trial with Newcastle earlier this season before joining Swansea, amid unconfirmed reports that United were unable to complete a deal for the defender).

That would work perfectly had Ashley's only faults been the desire to get us on an even keel - L7, new sign, older sign on the Gallowgate roof - its gone beyond a simple (he's financially prudent)...

I genuinely dont believe that he 'failed' to do due diligence - he knew perfectly what he was buying into and he knew what we could be worth in free advertising! He's a more ruthless version of the JJB and he's implementing his original views!

I'm 100% in the "we don't care about Ashley" camp, I think singing about him every game is getting us nowhere, we're as well ignoring the **** until he's had his cash out of us - 10 years from (as depressing as that sounds) 'cause he's not gunna give up an immediate cash cow until its worth his wallet wise!
