Whilst I agree with you, I stopped caring about 3 years ago, because I knew it wasn't going to happen.

You dont want to become obsessive about it, like our Stan and his Alonso obsession.
And whilst your concern at least makes sense, and I fundamentally agree with you, you are nonetheless flogging a dead horse I am afraid.

I thought we were going to mess this up. Seemed a bit slow and wasn’t even any purpose when going forward at 2-1 but luckily for some reason Bamba wipes out Willian for a pen, awful choice!

Hazard was different class again but I thought we were slightly above average today!

It would be nice for us to bring our youth through. However, like with defensive footie if sarri wins big trophies without playing them, we will laud him.

If he fails and doesn't bring the youth through then he will be rightly criticised

Too much shouting going on early here. We are basically just 5 games in and Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I say lets get the first choice players doing the right thing first, the way Sarri wants, and then start to introduce the next generation maybe one at a time. There is no point putting the kids in for the sake of it. 5 Games unbeaten start no way should there be criticism.

    League is not to experiment.

Lets dedicate whole of Europa & League cup for youth.

I dont agree with OP. We could have lost that match easily.

Again I find myself in the unenviable position of agreeing with Stan :p
League is not where we need to be experimenting right now.
We have the Europa League and League Cup for that. As long as that is what Sarri does, and uses Youth for those games.
I dont want to see Hazard, Pedro, Kante and like until at least the knockouts.

Indeed, I totally agree with you with regard to not experimenting with young players in the league. 5 wins from 5 is a superb start. Amazing that we went 0-1 down to Cardiff 5 years ago and went on to win 4-1. The same happened yesterday.

Yesterday the Cardiff players seemed to be taking every opportunity to feign injury for long periods, I reckon this was to do with them not being able to keep pace and to give an opportunity for them to catch their breath. I don’t think there was much danger of them winning but they did show some skill and they came here to play open expansive football. 4-1 was the right result and without big signings I don’t think we’ll see them again at Stamford Bridge in the league for at least another 5 years.

I can’t believe anyone seriously criticises a new manager five games into a new job for not playing kids and experimenting.

Everyone knows a new manager wants to get a settled side. I think CP must be on the Wum like Stan D Man

To be fair this is a beef CP, and myself, for that matter, have had with the club for a while.
But right now isnt the moment to put in Youth, like you said, with a new manager trying to get a settled side playing the way he wants.
Conte should have been doing it last season when results weren't going our way. But I can totally understand Sarri wanting to settle the first XI first.

Every Chelsea fan, especially those such as myself, born, bred and lived my whole life a mile from the ground, want to see kids play (especially local lads).

Credit where it's due. A sensible and rational post.

Now I need a lie down!

I think experienced players will also be needed in Europa League not just kids.

Absolutely. Presumably the likes of Cahill, Moses and Fabregas

Yup, Cahill, Moses, Fabregas, maybe Willian, mixed with some youth like Ampadu, RLC, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi etc.

Players I dont want to see starting in the Europa Group stages under any circumstances:

    Kepa
    Hazard
    Pedro
    Kante
    Luiz
    Dave
    Alonso
    Rudiger
    Jorginho
    Kovacic
    Giroud

That still leaves Willy, Moses, Willian, Drinkwater, Barkley, Zappacosta, Cristensen etc as senior players to call upon and mix with the youth to add some experience.

Tbh I don't want any of the league starting 11 travel to Eastern Europe or Greece.

Leave Saari also at home if it is possible.
