Interesting game this week with our first chance to see the new signings in City colours. Celtic may well include our 3 old boys, Loovens, Ledley and Matthews. What sort of reception will they have? I think that now time has passed for the first two we should give them a warm (friendly) welcome. Joe in particular gave us many good years of service and while the way he departed was highly unsatisfactory and left a bad taste I think we should show we are big enough to recognise the good he did. By all means give him stick if he "misbehaves" in the game but at the end of the day he is a Cardiff boy and did well for us. Lets applaud him before and after the game. The same goes for Matthews whom it appears was forced out of the club by DJ's actions. Not the lad's fault so he deserves a good welcome back.
ledley was excellent for this club. its not his fault the club rejected numerous bids for him, a bit peeved we didnt get a fee but he was right to go to the club of his choice, not ours once his contract was up. matthews, well, i've got to say i dont blame him for leaving either. he wasnt really given much of a look in, so why on earth would he commit another 2-3 seasons to a manager who had frozen him out? loovens, good player, it seems they dont like him in scotland, we got £2m or so for him so it could be worse i hope they get a good reception
For those of us who, for whatever reason, can't get to the CCS on Weds. From spending a fair bit of time over in Ireland, something in the back of my mind kept telling me Celtic's pre-season games are usually shown live there so, after a little research, I found this: http://www.setanta.com/ie/TV-Listings/ (obviously Weds listing ) If a game is on TV it's usually streamed on myp2p as well http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=123465&part=sports This page will update on the day though I can't guarantee what the AV quality will be like. It's got to be better than nothing
I see no reason why any of them should get any stick. While their on the pitch maybe, thats just football, but not for any other reason. If it was Chopra/Bothroyd you could probably guarantee it but these 3 left under different circumstances. We'll just have to get them doing the Ayatollah http://www.celticfc.net/newsstory?item=1277
WOL have posted the story below. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...action-off-cardiff-city-crowd-91466-29075973/ If they all do the ayatollah then surely they're forgiven A warm welcome is the order of the day and some banter as well methinks
Me and my mate Martin for starters. Can't see there has been much interest. Bit surprised really, first opportunity to see our new guys and possible French striker. Many still in after shock after the end of last season, maybe. I'm more of an optimist and getting withdrawal symptoms through lack of footie. Women's World Cup doesn't count.
Me too. When the coal comes from the Rhondda, And the water's running fine, With my little pick and shovel, I'll be there!
With Cardiff trying to take Millar and Bigwilly from under the noses of Rangers, and Celtic arranging a game with us each season to see what we have cooking, we appear to be in good company these days! Prediction for Wednesday: Cardiff 2 Celtic 0, Ledley and Matthews sent off for being arses`!
I'm giving the game a miss. For obvious reasons. My heart still aches when I see Ledley in a Celtic top
There were 6 of them really, all worked in Wattstown pit. Dai, Gerwyn, Ianto, Gareth, Blethyn and little Jimmy.
