It was a great night got £16 I picked up from the pitch that was very kindly donated by Leeds fans , and I always thought a Yorkshire man was a scot with the generosity squeezed out of him .
Agreed, it was a great night An entertaining read albeit a little dramatic at the end. This made me laugh though "Iâm sure it was an early kick off to try and avoid things like this like crowd trouble". Since when has 4pm been early?
best night of my football life hilts, cardiff ****ing superb on and off the pitch>>>>>ninian park got the legendary status it deserved before we moved homes used 2 love the chants at away games years back of stay away from ninian park>>>.they(home crowd) used 2 laugh and play the big man card when we`d sing this >>>seems they didnt fancy the trip after all when it came down 2 it mind nice one hilts dubs(grass) really sums up the night in his post
loved that night i even did not mind that my mate had talked me from a 2-1 home win tenner bet to a 1-0 on the basis that we would only score once we both agreed best £250 we have ever not won LOL.
The atmosphere was red hot don't think I've ever been to a match with such a atmosphere of pure hatred for the opposition , the only other time I heard noise like that was v man city when Blakes goal went in, but the crackle in the air was different versus Leeds . Love Ferdinands quote when asked if he was intimidated before a match (not sure which one it was think it was a match in Turkey ) he said " no it fine I've played at Ninian Park "
I certainly agree that this was one of the best atmosphere's I've ever encountered at Ninian. There was a Leed's supporter sitting near me in the Bob Bank who thought it was wise to jump up and cheer when Leeds scored!! Luckily the stewards got him away in time! The problem was that he shouldn't have been there in the first place. Like the 4pm kick-off...that was another mistake. Everyone knew this would be a needle match so why allow supporters four hours to get tanked up. I'm sure some of the people around me can't even remember half the game the state they were in. Having said all this I think the media coverage went completely over the top and, as a result, the game is remembered for all the wrong reasons. This was a day when the BLUEbirds outfought a team sitting at the top of the league and deservedly won an excellent cup tie.
Totally agree Irish we have seen much worse before and after this game and i cant reecall them beening on the front page of the Sun all week!! TITS!!!
irish ....they(media) pumped it up and got what they wanted.......yes we had bad press for a while but no ****er ****s with cardiff city we were the start of downfall of that lovable club leeds utd
Can you remember all thier big lads outside the ground after being interviewed on TV saying that they have never been treated this way and everyone was picking on them ..........................northern monkeys ............;O)# Two tossers from my town who are about 20 yrs older and grew up thro the Revie yrs thought they would be clever and wear a leeds top to the game (they bought one especially!!!) ,they had never been so terrified in their lives and when they got to the local they had those new shirts in their pockets and just a coat on top to keep em warm .
that`l teach em for supporting english teams john.......not so glory glory leeds united that day john hey
They never have been to me Aber as think my grandad remembers them doing well ages ago but then tinged with corrupsion and bribery wern`t they? My generation just see them as a northern club with big expectations but a ****e team and fans ,all rugby league up that way anyways innit .....................
