Another day, another (brief) match thread. I guess our current restart is probably better than most of us dared dream, but today we meet a team on form and with motivation to match ours. However, our recent record against the Blue Birds is a good one (especially compared to Friday's opponents) and we have the luxury denied us for almost the entire season of having players available to shuffle the squad. I would expect to see a few changes tonight, but hopefully not in desire to win. We need to contain Cardiff at the back but I would hate to see us go there and park the bus aiming for a 0-0 (unless we actually achieve it in which case I'll be back praising Bowyers tactical nous). Fingers crossed our March to safety continues tonight. 2-2 draw. COYA
Thanks to the slightly fortunate Hull win and the very good QPR win, losing this one won't do us too much harm. I would rest Pratley and unleash the Nabster up front, as our strikers have not scored yet. I'm assuming Naby is OK - he's been an unused sub twice.
i'd try hard to grind out a draw here. play the first team... friday is on sky and against millwall. we might as well hand over the points now. play the youth
3 points from the next 3 games will be excellent. Could be back in the bottom 3 after that but with Reading and Birmingham to come we are confident about playing championship football next season
0-0 FT. I can't really claim much credit for predicting a draw as I also predicted four goals and the BBC say we didn't have a shot on target. The plus side is a valuable point away at a side chasing promotion. Given some elsewhere were suggesting this game was a 'free hit', this is a really usefull point. I genuinely feel we invited them onto us late on though - some of the subs were over negative. But really it's a whinge. Given where we were at the restart of the season, seven points is a great return. Be nice if Green could show a bit more interest.
We went to Cardiff for a point, and we got a point. First time this season we've had no shots on target as far as I know. But you don't need to score to get a point. One point closer to safety. One point closer to Championship football next season. Lee Bowyer is doing his job.
